SGA 5x19: Vegas
Well, it started as a parody of CSI: Original Flava. It turned into...well, I don't even know what.
Let me just see if I understand this: in order for reality to be saved, we require a Loser!Shep to shoot up a Wraith in the desert and then die.
However, Camo!Wraith managed to rip a hole in space-time and...what? Send a message through ALL OTHER REALITIES telling the Wraith, or Wraith-equivalents, where Earth is.
Meaning...that this completely random and bizarre AU actually has bearing on the finale. Whut?
This reminds me of 'Through A Mirror Darkly' at the end of Enterprise. Except that TAMD was the crowning glory of Enterprise in its sorry little run and this was...well, not a worthy penultimate ep.
The TMI Cam and the CSI-style direction were cute but waaaaay overused and the tie-in to Mrs Miller (was it that AU?) was also quite nice.
However, I'm just...a little underwhelmed. I really hope the finale can do the show justice.
