Merlin: To Kill The King
Must try to set the trailer to one side for a moment so I can talk about the episode.
Uh...though there's not much to say really. Conflicted!Merlin was good, and the GSD was a massive bastard. Gwen righted Merlin in the end, and Morgana came to her senses.
Arthur wasn't in it very much - he shouted at Merlin, which made me think he'd reverted to pratdom, but then he was exceptionally sweet to Gwen and freed Morgana.
Merlin had the Avalon staff, which I wasn't expecting. And we had the Philosopher's Stone, which for some reason, we're calling the Mage's Stone. Probably to avoid JKR suing, which I think is silly - it's not her legend!
However, tbh, this was just a pre-finale episode to make us panic a little about Uther. There wasn't anything slashy in it, except for a nice Gwen/Morgana moment where Gwen says 'if anything happened to you, I don't know what I'd do'.
clearillusion also informs me that there was a red shirt on the floor of Merlin's bedroom while he was wearing HIS red shirt. There's only one response to that really, isn't there?
NEXT WEEK: YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE KILLED MY FRIEND!
