MM Rares 2015

Thank you for writing for me! I hope you have fun with it. I'm open to a lot of things, so please don't feel constrained to the prompts below. They are suggestions and jumping-off points, so feel free to use or ignore them completely, wherever inspiration takes you. I'm really open in my fic-reading interests as long as it avoids my do not wants (see just below this). You can sell me on just about anything - AU, canon, fusions, joyful cliché, interpretation you haven't seen before, slice of life, sprawling plot... Seriously, so many things.

Please do not include: non-canon character death, rape, infidelity, fisting, pet play, humiliation, detailed torture (references to it are fine), zombie apocalypse AU.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Peter/Yondu

Please no grooming or underage. That said this can be creepy, have dubcon, be pseudo-incestuous, or have other dodgy elements depending on where you want to go with it. It's a weird and tense relationship with terrible pirate moral codes involved so darker stuff totally works. Ultimately, though, I like it to be such that Peter can reasonably hold to positive sentiments in that 'He was about the only family I had' line and Yondu has enough fondness for Peter that he can even enjoy being screwed over on an agreement, so something light-hearted or at least humorous works too. Putting the fun in dysfunction! And uh, I'd prefer no monogamy either, at least for pre-canon Peter because I can't buy it, but as said above I'd also prefer no infidelity. An open relationship is A-OK.

I like stuff that plays with language and translators and that kind of thing in this canon, so a fic where Yondu's or Peter's translator cuts out and Somehow, getting together ensues, would be great. Or an AU setting where they don't speak the same language.
Peter's terrible/awesome Ravager life lessons, as learned from and with Yondu.
Anything set post-movie and how their relationship changes. Established romantic relationship, or from platonic to romantic are both fine (all for a given value of 'romance').
PWP options/possible things to use if you include a sex scene: a public punishment gets unexpectedly heated, A/B/O or similar - in heat, sex pollen, that sort of thing - genderswap, xeno from Yondu's side and/or Peter's non-human side, Peter making a sexy sex mixtape.
Awesome Mixtape Volume 1 gets lost/damaged. This can not be allowed to stand! ...and Yondu finds that he keeps letting Peter be as increasingly ridiculous about this as he wants. He might even be convinced to help.

Incredible Hulk (2008 movie):
Samuel Sterns/Emil Blonsky
Emil Blonsky/Bruce Banner

This movie was basically about men creeping on monstrous versions of power in the form of incredibly musclebound men, and I just. I couldn't help it. Too easy to imagine the creeping as outright perving-on. Mentions of Betty/Bruce or endgame Betty/Bruce is fine, since Blonsky/Bruce is not the kind of relationship I see lasting happily. Similarly, both ships I requested can be in one fic if that's where inspiration takes you; happily ever after need not be applied. I'd prefer non-con to be avoided, or at least off-screen. I also don't mind if there's no sex or what you'd generally call romance as long as there's that weird, worshipful investment in how amazing a particular dude's physiology is.

The military (or just General Ross) has both Emil and Bruce on a leash and there is some sort of bonding through adversity. And/or something where Emil spends a lot of time goading Bruce into being the Hulk - Bruce's struggle with the change is always fascinating to me.
Samuel Sterns post-movie is still getting used to his amazing new gamma-mutated brain, and tracks down Blonsky in order to run tests on/with him and figure out where the commonalities between their mutations lie. (And perve on him.) Or a brawn & brain team-up where they become a villain duo.
AU where the characters are e.g. Vikings and Bruce is a berserker, or the Hulk/Abomination/Leader sides come out of magic, demon possession, or whatnot. With this kind of thing, it would be great to see the powers as fairly accepted, in contrast to canon, though still (at least potentially) dangerous even to allies.
Medical fetish seems like it would go so naturally with this canon.

Crossovers

Captain America: The Winter Soldier/Leverage: Bucky/Eliot
Eliot has a way getting aggressively and deeply caring that makes me want to have him set eyes on post-TWS Bucky and be unable to fight off sympathy, which develops rapidly into empathising a whole lot. Also they can trade haircare tips, even if that boils down to just Bucky using Eliot's hair ties. I'd prefer this crossover to be of the kind where MCU and Leverage take place in the same universe. The rest of the Leverage crew and other MCU characters are more than welcome to pop in on the regretful assassin lovefest.

This can be about a moment of wary hurt/comfort that extends itself beyond both their expectations, or shake out to be a rivalry with benefits. With the latter option, maybe they went on a mission together (Hydra got everywhere, after all, so Eliot could have been mixed up in it directly or at a once-removed level) and now Bucky still has misgivings about him, or eventually when Bucky is on even keel Eliot just wants to go up against the Winter Soldier one time. Or both options! Fighting due to assumed hostility, sorting out the truth of the matter, and then gourmet food and a safe haven. ...or just Bucky half-dying of delight from the stuff Eliot makes him, actually, I am totally there for indulgent food porn. (In the sense of focus on amazing food, not involving it during sex.)

Guardians of the Galaxy/Star Trek Reboot: Peter/McCoy
McCoy finds he has a terrible yen for man-children who are in the process of learning how to be better people and heroes. Peter finds McCoy annoyingly cranky and whiny but even more annoyingly hilarious and then ... very caring and brave!? They are both of the opinion that all this is unfair but that doesn't help any with putting the Feelings back in the box. Though I like this ship because of similarities that can be drawn between Peter and Jim, please don't make Peter a substitute for Jim or have Kirk/McCoy pining. I'm mostly looking for happiness and humour, possibly with a side of bittersweetness if the crossover couple has to split up so that they can both be home.

I'd prefer a crossover where there are two different universes, and neither one is fictional in the other. So Peter (plus his team, if you'd like) could go to the Star Trek universe, or McCoy (perhaps with some other Starfleet officers - if so, I'd love Kirk, Uhura, and/or Marcus) could end up ranting about how very and terribly different the MCU is to home. It would be cool to see something where McCoy ends up having to live far more of a space pirate life while with Peter than he ever wanted to, but taking to the swashbuckling with fair aplomb. Or Peter finds it great to be in a universe where he's free of his past and goes wild with being Good-Hearted and Heroic without a bad reputation getting brought up all the time. Well at least for a while, that's totally not going to last. Or heck, dump the both of them in a third universe and they have to work together to get back home.

Discworld: Teppic/Chidder

I get a cutthroat vibe from Chidder that makes me feel like he shouldn't really be invested over the course of years in a decent bloke like Teppic. And that makes me like it all the more that they are friends nonetheless, and want to see how they negotiated having what seem to be very different moral points of view running parallel over the time that they've known each other. Not that Chidder was constantly being cutthroat - I also liked how he was personable and helpful to Teppic and the other newbies - but it does seem to have popped up, sometimes alarmingly.

I'd love fumbling-in-the-dormitory fic, running into each other post-book and relating adventures or having a new one together, or either one getting involved in shady things and the other rescuing him. Anything involving some more bastardised Ancient Egyptian mythology/society is cool, because I love a lot of how Pratchett tackled it. Making use of Teppic having a small shot of divinity in himself would be real cool, though if the god side of him does rise up again in the story, please don't have it be because Ptraci died because then I'd just be sad. Also the terrible truth is that I keep thinking of that thing about pharaohs ritualistically masturbating into the Nile, so there's a potential kink idea? Or a comedy idea, really.

Pacific Rim (2013)

The canon deaths are fine, but I'd prefer nothing set post-death and angsting about it. I only know movie canon so while you can feel free to use backstory from the other sources, please write it in a way that's easy to follow from just going off the movie (or link to relevant parts of the wiki, maybe). No bad end in terms of the apocalypse succeeding, please (unless you do a Mad Max AU, since it's part of the package there).

Raleigh/Stacker
I like the contrasts between how their relationship was at first - commander with exasperating, sometimes unprofessional pseudo-soldier - and what it became later, after Raleigh had changed and Stacker got more desperate, going outside the law to try and save the world, and more human to Raleigh once his backstory came out. All the growing respect, Stacker still believing in Raleigh after things went wrong, and Raleigh's new knowledge of how to handle disagreements with the guy giving him orders.

That universal compatibility thing, what is that even about. I'd love it if this was explored via Raleigh and Stacker Drifting together.
Yancy never dies, and that less tempered version of Raleigh still needs to figure out a better way to work with Stacker.
Just some kind of thing with beat-down, not broken warriors who have hurt/comfort vibes at each other. Anything. Stacker so rarely lets himself be human but Raleigh gets a glimpse of it anyway - maybe extend the timeline on the apocalypse a little so that it can be taken further?
AUs with a different apocalypse. Coming fresh off Mad Max: Fury Road, that seems like it could make for a cool fusion.
Stacker lives, and they both help with putting the world back together while supporting each other/growing closer.

Raleigh/Yancy
Set when Yancy is alive or an AU where he remains alive. Those five introductory minutes where Raleigh's bouncy and irrepressible are endearing, and though I love how he matures it would be nice to see the less beat-down version for a little longer, as well the sweet, steady-on-there-bro kind of response Yancy gives. I'd prefer the dysfunction to be as minimal as possible aside from, y'know, it being an incest ship. Co-dependency is fine, but nothing like manipulation or abuse, please. They seem too sweet and supportive together for that.

A day in the life, pre-canon - deciding to try to help save the world, learning to deal with being so privy to each other in the Drift (is that where they started having non-brotherly feelings for each other or did it come before?), working in this strange new environment.
PWP: a tussle that turns into makeouts. Or tremendous UST where they want it to turn into makeouts, but That Would Be Wrong so they'll just sit around consumed with lust for the rest of the evening.
It's discovered that Mako is or could be an even better Drift partner for Raleigh or Yancy than the brothers are with each other, and she becomes co-pilot with the brother of your choice. Jealousy ensues (but has to be dealt with sensibly, as combating the end of the world is just a wee bit more important), and/or trying to keep the secret of their relationship, and/or Mako/Yancy/Raleigh endgame.
A Groundhog Day scenario where one of them keeps going back to a certain point in time until they figure out how to fix the issue that makes time keep looping. Feel free to go for a happy ending or heartbreak.
Yancy lives, eventually the apocalypse is averted, and they both help with putting the world back together while supporting each other/having their relationship start to change.
