3 favorite relationships
- Kathleen-Sirius (...also I'm actually invested in Sirius-Tibbles. That friendship was adorable, even beyond the immediate "d'aaww" evoked by kitty+puppy friendship.)
- Jamie-Helen
- David-Luke

And I love Abdullah & Flower-in-the-Night too. They saved the day through the power of hiding in a cupboard and making out furiously! Also, wow, did I ever ship Tom/Polly while reading Fire and Hemlocke. I feel a little creepy about it now, actually.

3 favorite characters
- Helen
- Luke
- Mordion

3 of my favorite moments
- Howl and the EPIC SLIME SULK. However did Michael manage him before Sophie came?
- The ending of Homeward Bounders. DWJ often had issues with endings, but that one was perfect.
- ...can the entirety of Hexwood count? Desperately confusing storyline and all. I wouldn't even say it's my favourite DWJ book, but something about the atmosphere of various parts are really striking.

3 reasons I like/love that fandom
- So, so many good books. There are some I dislike, but often you can just pick a DWJ book at random and know that it's going to be good.
- the ideas are off the wall but so well executed! The kitchen sink approach to sci-fi fantasy is so much fun.
- The family stuff and all the nitty-gritty 'people are people' moments the books are full of. One of my very favourite things about DWJ books.

It's a sad fact that I actually remember NOTHING about Fire and Hemlock, I've been meaning to reread it for ages and just... never get around to it. orz

I think the sad answer is that Michael DIDN'T and Howl just did whatever the hell he wanted while Michael hid behind the furniture until he died down. XD

Also, am totally with you on Homeward Bender's. Oh god the punch in the gut D: D: D:

Fire and Hemlock is fairly trippy, so it's hard to blame anyone for not remembering it. But at some point, Polly was probably still thirteen or something, and I was just thinking 'WHEN DO THEY GET MARRIED'. At least there wasn't anything skeevy from Tom's part, despite the fact that they eventually got together.

The sad, sad life of a wizard's apprentice. Probably when Calcifer wasn't scared of getting put out by the slime, he just laughed at Michael.

"You wouldn't believe how lonely it gets." ==> WEEPING
