Government Controlled Cats - an original fic challenge based on parodies of YA books. You know how those books are always like "The government controls emotions/beauty/weather/having children/medicine/everything ever and all people are sheep!! Except, suddenly, this average protagonist..." The first round of entries had some great stuff. Fair warning, this comm might ruin the YA shelves at the bookstore for you. I went bookshopping recently and started giggling inappropriately.
parallelsfic is a fic exchange for rare media from Asia. Manga, dramas, movies, anime, manwha, etc. There are fandoms people on the flist are/were into - Kieli, SPEC, Keroro Gunsu - and a ton of other stuff. Sign-ups close today, but the bottom limit for the fic you have to write is only 500 words, so it's not a massive commitment.
(Augh, I wish I'd thought to add Monsoon Wedding to the list. Watched it the other day and Dubey/Alice my heart.)
