(Italian) Spade = (English) Swords
Can our circus pirate swordfight??
IS YAMAMOTO IN FOR A SURPRISE AT THE REMATCH? If only. Or maybe Daemon Spade is a spirit that used to be trapped in a sword until some blameless guy with zig-zag hair partings freed it, and it possessed him!
Or maybe Amano didn't realise it means "swords" in Italian and was going with the "symbol on a deck of cards" definition of spade, given that she once put that symbol in the guy's eye. It does tie in nicely with the ace of spades being considered a symbol of death. There's also his scythe, another thing tied to the figure of Death. If so, wouldn't Spade be English, considering the English name? Same for "Knuckle". (Boo, though, if Spade's English that would joss one of my fics.)
