Erk, don't mind my mutterings and grumblings about the prompts. My interests are basically "where's Tsuna?" and "does this pairing make an ounce of sense? no? oh boy, I want to try!"
And at this point yuletide has me. There is no fighting. But I'm more than okay with that!
I didn't have any particular feelings about Parley/Smitty either but they are SO ADORABLE. And the party hat on Jones? THE ICING ON THE CAKE.
That said I am weirdly, deeply amused at the way recent chapters are dragging Annie's emotional awkwardness out in glaring daylight because it's hilarious and oh Annie. OH ANNIE. XD (And then the homework bit inspires a whole new brand of OH ANNIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING NO :()
WHAT IS THIS you're also reading Gunnerkrigg? :D :D
And the party hat on Jones? THE ICING ON THE CAKE. I nearly cracked something from laughing. The party hat might secretly be the point of the entire chapter.
But Annie's social interactions were almost as funny! It's easy to forget how distant and anti-social she can be when she's with Kat, but thank you, Parley/Smitty and Jack, for bringing that back to light. Her and Jack's sad attempt at courtship was just magic. OH KIDS. (i'm so glad the homework thing is getting explained! I've wondered why she'd do something seemingly counter to her moral code ever since she was shown cheating off Kat's work ages ago.)
Yeah, I started reading it sometime last year I think? Either that or it was earlier this year, I don't remember XD The updates are so regular I SUSPECT THE ARTIST MIGHT BE A ROBOT. (Well, okay, there are many other webcomics that also update regularly, but still!)
The party hat might secretly be the point of the entire chapter. I support this theory A+
Ahaha yes, Annie seems so normal when she's with Kat, it was amazing and hilarious watching her the one going "So, if you're done making out, maybe we can get back to business? ... No?" while everyone around her was just full of :D and <3 Oh Jack, you've got a long road ahead if you want to try and keep this up. XD
I didn't really remember the homework thing from earlier, maybe I didn't notice it or it slipped my mind. My guess is that growing up in a hospital did not do any favours to Annie's academic education, but why doesn't she ask for help from Kat? Or the teachers? D: OH ANNIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING.
People like Tom Siddell and Terry Pratchett make me feel amazement and shame. That work ethic! Siddell doesn't even have help working on the comic, afaik. At least with the regular updates of, say, Girl Genius, there are a bunch of people working on the comic.
SO PRETTY. I loved that it was all wordless, and how all the vibrancy contrasted with Jeanne's wordy, passionless speech at the end.
I'm a bit confused why she's at the same time to hopeful and scared, as shown earlier, about getting sent down there. Hmm, that's a good point. I didn't really think about that - maybe she's leaving the Court behind for good, and that's hard for her, to a certain extent. It's kind of awesome that the story can have a giant explicit flashback and a lot of things still aren't cleared up.
I'm not sure why she compliments Parley either, but I loved that! Like, despite everything, she can appreciate that kind of skill! It makes her seem more... idk, alive, somehow?yeah! Like there's still hope for her. She could maybe still find peace
