Kyoko is amazing in many ways. XD And oops, I guess I'm too used to blaming Lory for wacky acting situations. I don't actually remember what happened in the beginning of the arc; should probably skim it again. Hiou in the Love Me section would be hilarious - but I'm not sure I want much more of him, if he's honestly Moko's love interest. Please let's shoot that one down soon, mangaka! PLEASE.

I pick Tsuna for the meme! By reason of bias.

A) My OTP - Gokudera/Tsuna. Because Gokudera so had a crush on Tsuna in the early days and it won my heart instantaneously. I remember fondly that bit in his character bio that said "he has an almost odd admiration for Tsuna". Thanks Amano, I will take this reminder that the series is a joyous fanservice fest and run with it! I love how bad these two are at each other. Gokudera makes up a Tenth Gen Boss to adore and obey, Tsuna treats all gestures of affection or admiration as a reason to run screaming (fair enough, considering), and at no particular time, they meet in the middle and refuse to do without each other.
B) The runner up - Kyoko/Tsuna. Tsuna jumped in front of a lion for Kyoko, and even in the crack arc that has to count for something. I love how he has their wedding planned and yet they remain platonic, because 1) HAHA TSUNA U SUCK and 2) it's adorable when he and Kyoko are hanging out, chatting and teasing. They're buddies! And I love buddyships. The exception to the platonicness is when Tsuna has moments of being hot and Kyoko looks like "I think Tsuna-kun might be of the opposite sex. IS THIS REAL LIFE??" - but that's also awesome. XD
C) The anti-ship - Xanxus/Tsuna. I try to imagine them romancing and end up with Tsuna face-down in a ditch. The happy ending for them is where he's capable of getting up again and banishes Xanxus to Hawaii.
D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character - he should run away and start a new life somewhere antipodal to both Italy and Japan, like the land east of the sun and west of the moon, idk. He has no reason to want to be a mafia boss and it says more for his common sense, morality, and courage that he keeps refusing.
E) One person he never fell in love with, and why - "You were serious about it? The whole time?"

Haru nearly fell out of her armchair. "Of COURSE I was serious!"

"She was so serious, Tsu-kun," Kyoko said, patting him on the arm. "Haru had all these magazines, and she marked articles for tips on what to do on your wedding night, except she couldn't read a paragraph without going bright red and throwing the magazines across the bedroom."

At this point Haru threw a pillow across the sitting room, and Kyoko, laughing, batted it away and got up from beside Tsuna to say sorry and tease her some more.

Years too late, Tsuna stared at Haru and blushed - seriously? She'd really, actually meant those things? Then he caught himself, looked away and shook his head before she killed him for even hinting at betraying Kyoko.

I think the foreshadowing for this arc when Ren made his ~decision~ happened like 2 (3?) arcs ago, so no surprise if either of us is remembering this wrong. XD

Hiou would be the brattiest Love Me member ever, but I'd be happy to see ANY horrified guy in the pink overalls. XD I think Hiou is pretty much... definite, ahaha. But just... can we have this happen like TEN YEARS DOWN THE ROAD, please. After Moko has finished taking over the industry with Kyoko and stomping over hearts with COMPLETE DISDAIN.

a and b) They're both cute, but much like Haru, I don't think Tsuna's ever been able to realise how serious Gokudera's devotion is XD

c) Man, I would never have even considered this if it wasn't for a fic, and if I wasn't... BIZARRELY FOND of ships where either party has tried to kill the other/both have had to duel each other to the death orz (Also, if I hadn't lost my ability to take Xanxus seriously)

e) AHAHA SO TRUE.

Hiou would be the most hilarious Love Me member! Unless it was Sho, but that would be a nightmare too. The idea of Hiou/Kanae remains creepy, but if it does happen there would probably be a timeskip, which could be really interesting...

I don't think Tsuna's realised Gokudera's that serious either, but at least they've both outright said they want to be BFF, in spite of all the boss & subordinate hero worship. It drives me batty that Haru doesn't spell out in small words that she'd like to date him before they get to the "mafia boss's wife" bit, and that Tsuna can't haul out that Vongola intuition and get a hint that Haru is legit. into him. C'mon you two, resolve something!

Duel-to-the-death ships are exiciting. Often in shounen you get a type of Bond of Honour out of something like that anyway. :D Xanxus/Tsuna, though - I can love the fics, but trying to parse the pairing in my own head doesn't work.

And I guess this is why one shouldn't wait days before replying to a comment. You start repeating yourself with absolutely no memory of the first statement. orz

Oh my god if Sho became a Love Me member, they would decimate LME. I think, uh, Lory should be wise enough to realise this and not court wanton destruction of his own property, so to speak. XD I still have no clue what to think of Hiou/Kanae beyond "..... okaaaay then" so I'm mostly just waiting to see how it goes.

I seriously wonder how long Skip Beat is going to run, because only a year's passed so far, the series could go on FOREVER? (at this point I'm not really complaining about the prospect) Maybe a timeskip really is the way to go.

Maybe the Vongola intuition only activates in the presence of people trying to kill you. Otherwise no on in the Vongola would ever have love life problems ever! Heck, the whole current debacle could have been avoided if Tsuna had whipped it out BEFORE Enma tried to kill him. Oh you dumb kids.

Haru should just gang up with Kyoko and tag-team Tsuna into a threesome, because that would certainly happen faster than Tsuna making a move himself. XD

Quite likely because Xanxus himself as a character DOESN'T REALLY MAKE MUCH SENSE, but... hey, it's Reborn.

What! I hadn't realised. This is truly the most shounen of shoujo manga if they manage to make manga time stretch so far in real time. In this case I agree with you, though, at least Skip Beat makes a good job of its time-stretching, and can carry on as long as it likes.

This must be the case. Tsk tsk, Giotto should have tried to diversify his magic Mary Sue properties.

This is the ending I want with all my heart - except for the one where Haru and Kyoko just get together themselves - but the threesome is a winner too.

Thank you for saying it so I don't have to! The disparate parts of Xanxus DO NOT gel for me - although I guess it's a case of some characters just don't make sense to some people, since I don't get it when others say that e.g. Gokudera or Tsuna don't have proper development. But Xanxus, man. WHAT.

Well, Kyoko was 16 when it started and she turned 17 in the birthday arc which I think was also around Christmas? And there was just a Valentine's arc. Also, I think Kyoko mentions a few times that she's only been in the business for a year or so. (Wait, how do I even REMEMBER all this) It's totally shounen, and yet the progress Kyoko's made in her career actually does seem somewhat realistic for the time frame, so props to the mangaka. Skip Beat is totally my shoujo One Piece, it can continue FOREVER. *_*

To be fair to Xanxus, I think a lot of characters in KHR don't make much sense either, from a purely canon perspective. That's probably where the fandom appeal lies, in taking the pieces that are there and then drawing your own picture around them. XD

Co-signed! Kyoko's journey into awesome plus the gleeful skewering of shoujo tropes - carry on, please carry on.

!! You solved the mystery! Especially since Amano is not big on backstory, you get lots of established, potentially likeable character traits and can really get extra investment out why they exist. (Seriously, this is like a revelation. Sometimes I wonder why KHR can be so compelling, and this seems like a good reason.)

It's always been a general fandom mystery why some of the biggest and most active fandoms are actually for really mediocre canons, whereas far stronger canons have smaller/less vocal ones, and I generally think this is why. XD When the canon's too good you can't compete/add that much to it, but when it's KHR, man, have a ball, do whatever you want!
