One handy time-sink, coming up

I meant to do this way sooner, aramis_chan! Oh, Internet … I guess I do know how to quit you.

Here are recs from Shousetsu Bang*Bang, a webzine where mostly dudes and every so often women make out. Note that every story has to contain a sex scene and also, as the inspiration for the zine is the average Japanese BL manga, that Surprise Buttsex is our constant companion, and by his nature does not care if we like it or not.

I haven't done proper descriptions, because SSBB doesn't and it got me liking things I might not have tried otherwise. This isn't a complete list of my favourites; I don't have links to e.g. "Accidental wrestler sex" or "Together, they fight tentacles!" or almost any of the GL stories. Perhaps later.

Everything illustrated by tongari. WAIT, THE ARCHIVE! READ THE ARCHIVE definitely:

"The Archive", by Kagamino Kage. What a head-trip! It made such an impression I remembered its name right off the bat, and I couldn't do that with half of these.

"Student/teacher", or "FETISH FETISH FETISH", or "Lunch Money", by Tsukizubon Saruko. More tasteful than I make it sound, honest.

"Even mermaids don't have to be cheesy", or "Drowning" by Nara Kagerou.

"When a man REALLY loves his horse", or "To Ride A Wild Stallion" by Koizumi Shinme.

"That dude is so deliciously bitchy", or "Sleeping", by Dr. Noh

"That dude is even more deliciously bitchy!" or "Songs You Know by Heart," by Dr. Noh. ALSO HE TAKES IN A STRAY YOUTH thus appealing directly to my happy place.

"Buddhism wants you to get naked", or "The Middle Way" by Torino Koji.

"If Stephen King wrote tender loving man-on-man action", or "Canaan Falls" by Tsukizubon Saruko.

"AARGH DOLL AARGH", or "The Fortune-Telling Doll", by Sakana Sara. Also, I know that exact surfer dude.

"Father Christmas slash, in a way", or "A Visit From Nick" by Purrsia. Not really Father Christmas slash. Really.

"Everybody loves the bit with the fish", or "The very best of cognitive dissonance", or "Ingmar Bergman Is Dead" by Nijiiro Sumi.

"Ex-assassin and boyfriend try to make it out alive", or "...But You Can't Take Him Out" by Tsukizubon Saruko. Mostly I like the drag queen.

"It's okay if it's an intelligent species!", or "Summer Fling" by Kemono Michi.

"LOLOLOLOL", or "Mike Dies At The End" by Shukyou.

"Geeky goth/sweet young punk thang", or "Magic Comes to Alphabet City (And to Certain Parts of Greenpoint)" by Domashita Romero.

"Not-so-secretly: American newscaster (?) slash", or "And That's the News" by Shukyou and Tsukizubon Saruko. Truly hilarious, and I only know the littlest bit about Colbert & the related.

"Piraaaaates!" or "The Ballad Of Barefoot Robin", or "The Ridiculous Seduction Of Lieutenant Worthington" by Roumonte Emi. The latter two are the actual names for the story, by the way.

"That one with a transsexual character", or "Masks and Stockings" by Torino Koji. Very well done.

"British boarding school boys love triangle", or "Scarletina" by geiriadur.

"Panic! at the Disco/gods OTP", or "Guitar Hero" by Takiguchi Aiko. The notes at the end made me want to be interested in Panic! at the Disco. That life story sounds amazing.

Thinking back I'm astonished there isn't more angel/demon on SSBB - don't think I've seen any, actually. What an oversight!

..."The very best of cognitive dissonance" could be a band name. But not a band I think I'd listen to.
