Found a nifty new anime to watch called Michiko to Hatchin. BSS did an amazing sub of it but the files play like shit on my computer for some unknown reason, but I'm plodding through it in my own special, incredibly annoying way. >.>; It's worth it. I've only seen the first three episodes but I'm in love so far.
Flashback to Yu-Gi-Oh!, the original, which is all of a sudden getting attention from 4Kids again. They put up the first episode completely raw (original Japanese, no subtitles, no edits) on their YouTube channel completely out of the blue. I enjoyed very much watching it for listening comprehension practice.
Oh, YGO... my one true love. *swoon* It'll never die.
Which reminds me, sometime this week I reaaaaaally need to torrent all of 5Ds. GX was a travesty, but the first two episodes of 5Ds looked to be actually INTERESTING. Although I'm still not sure how I feel about post-apocalyptic Domino City, but we'll see...
Watched the 3-part season 3 premier of Transformers: Animated and was GREATLY IMPRESSED. I'm pretty much dying from anticipation of this coming Saturday's episode. I would go on but I pretty much got that out of my system via AIM yesterday. XD;
I've been watching a lot more shows than normal lately, actually. Megan's planning to introduce me to "Big Love" and "Tudors" when we get back up to UMass after the break. The former because polygamy interests me in an I-don't-really-see-what's-so-wrong-about-it (as long as everyone in the relationship respects each other) kind of way, and the latter in a HAHA-Duelist-of-the-Roses kind of way. Even though that latter there probably will have nothing whatsoever to do with the period in history that DotR's based in (still... LOL).
DotR talk always reminds me of fanfiction, which leads me to my next bit, which is that I finally friggin' edited and posted my Folklore fic,
Laid to Rest which I started months ago when I first beat the game. *fails at life* Oh well, at least it's actually up now. Next thing on my agenda is to fix up and post another Amarant fic, possibly work on my Jak/KH crossover that won't be done until both fandoms are basically dead (*sob*), and SNARE'S BIRTHDAY FIC WHICH IS TOTALLY A SECRET SO THERE. >.>;;;;;
My grandmother bestowed upon me the mother of all cookbooks for my birthday:
The Better Homes and Gardens one. It's a giant 3-ring binder with over 600 pages of recipes in it. That's over 1200 recipes. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA LEMME AT THE KITCHEN, BITCHES. The first thing out of it that I'm dying to try is a slow cooker recipe for pork and edamame soup. Cait recently introduced me to edamame (I've lived a sheltered food life up until this year; what can I say?) and I've kind of become addicted to them. Which is fine since they're hella healthy. WILL EAT THEM LIKE CANDY.
What are these "portion sizes" you speak of? >.> lolIlovemymetabolism. >DDD
Let's see... what else...?
Got to level 88 (and a half) in RO today. Leveling on Hill Winds is working out much better than I thought it would. That new weapon I got is freaking amazing on them. They also drop good shit for the NPCs, so I made another million zeny. *rubs hands together*
I started Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories the other day. Got through Traverse Town 2.0. I love the Organization and Sora and Riku and everything but I really hate having to play through the same damn levels over and over again with the same music and the same enemies and the same bosses. Only with a shittier battle system. I'll do it for the pretty, though. I'll just probably whine about it a lot. XD; At least I don't mind taking my time with it, since I played the GBA version ages ago so it's not new info or anything. Loving the Org's voice acting so far, though, I gotta say.
Gaia's giving me shit in the games department lately, which is making me mad. Their St. Pat's Day promo with the aquariums (Big Booty Week) totally failed me because of a combination of godawful lag and a lack of triggered tanks. I can't play Cards again because my tokens magically teleported to the backside of my inventory again, despite my leaving tokens unplayed to prevent just that from happening. (Why is spellcheck telling me that "teleported" isn't a word???) *kicks Gaia* Bad week with them.
Moving on to reading stuff. Finally got around to finishing Megan's Phoenix Wright manga (volume 1) today. It's cute; drawn by multiple artists. Has little at all to do with court proceedings and instead focuses on life outside court, which is nice, because I love that kind of stuff. Maya disturbs me even more in the manga than she did in the games. I won't cite the particular example I have in mind because it really made me go, "WHAT THE FUCK, MANGAKA?" but. Favorite story is probably the one in which Edgeworth buys a rickshaw to replace his sports car (which has been squirreled away in the evidence locker for all time), and he commissions Gumshoe to pull him around in it. XDDDDDD; Major lulz.
I'm hoping to get my Genji readings and my translation of Yoshimoto Banana's "美しさ" out of the way tomorrow. After that, hopefully either ficcage or reading TF comics. Or both. Preferably both.
And that's really all there is at the moment. Unless I talk about my random illness(es?) that I've had the last few days, but that's very unpleasant, so.
I do believe I'm going to go sleep now. XD; This has been a random update. :P
...Holy shit. I can't believe I didn't already have a YGO tag. @___@ TRAGIC.
