sometimes titles are really hard. i need something that excites me and makes me want to type more. so it always takes me longer on papers because i need a title before i continue with the work. and i try to make them funny or having a meaning behind them. Just in case a professor comes up to me and says, "Wow Shawnna, that paper was amazing and the title was outstanding." (this has never even come close to happening) the closest i was to someone paying attention to to how much time i put into my titles was a random question i got from someone about the connection between the title and the rest of the story. something like that.
moving on
school is over and im out of the dorm. that means less people contact, less internet connection, less video games, less of everything except work and missing people. Oh let's not count out the drama that comes when you come back to town. last year, some chick thought i was moving in on her boyfriend because he lived next door to me..and HE was coming on to me. i figured it out tho..he was telling her that i was coming on to him to make her jealous.. (man, people can be bad and annoying.) so even tho i've lived in fox hollow since the place was built..(one of the first families in it) im treated like that outsider because im not really there. it happens..there is no seniority in life, no wise elders, no true direction...nothing like that.
i was thinking about "SLC PUNK" and we should all watch it together...i was thinking about anarchy(no BIG government) and how there are the douche bags and the anarchist...douche bags being those people who just run around breaking shit up and makes things harder for you because their idea of "no big government" means chaos. which is not what anarchy is. anarchy<>chaos so i was thinking about the ending of the movie...the main character (who is against the big government and society rules social norm dressing patterns blah blah blah) meets a girl who he hits it off with and who has the same ideas that he has...but the kicker is that she doesn't dress like him nor does she run around causing chaos. this events kicks him in the nuts..along with the death of his friends, he thinks about his actions and how his life is going. from what i hear..the people who loved this movie and the idea of "chaotic" anarachy HATE this ending. why because he gets rid of his mohawk and decides to go to law school! i would like to talk about why some people are offended by his decision also i would like to discuss what was the affect of the girl he meets at the end that he says he is inlove with. why is that some people see this ending as "giving up"? what is the epiphany that the main characters has at the end? what is the significance of the main character going to law school and having an aside with the camera? i think it would be a very interesting discussion. and if possible i would like to hear from both sides of the debate! (if there is some who has a different opinion) if not i would like to hold the discussion anyway. plus, it'll be a great movie night! we could go to the beach during the day..(hopefully a clothing optional) then come back and watch the movie...have a drink and discuss it. off the bat i don't see the ending as giving up...and i don't see it as him giving in. Those sentences sound the same but i hope you get my meaning. they are not.
i haven't written this much about something important in awhile..i hope you read it and consider coming and enjoying the talk and "SLC PUNK"
