Back from Canada. Woo!

Highlights:
-a few days with nothing to do but look out the window at amazing scenary (especially while going through the Rockies) or read (Current reading: Catch-22)
-Vancouver is huge and nice, and very clean
-Oh yeah, Canada uses its own currency. How 'bout that. (Main difference: they have coins for 1 and 2 dollars. Other than that they have the same sorts of bills and coins - 5, 10, 20, 50, etc. dollar bills, and pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters. Not too complicated.)
-Interesting people on the train when I dared interact - people from France, Japan, Australia, Wales, (Canada, of course), Texas, Minnesota, Germany.
-All meals were served restaurant style in a dining car.
-Canadian newspapers report something about ice hockey almost daily.

Anywho, I'm back until Wednesday.

Oh, and I bought roller blades today!! YES. I'm excited.

Edit: I just tried out my roller blades on Campus Drive a short way - EXHAUSTING, but brilliant! I can't wait to get better at it. (My ice skating skills helped greatly, as I'd never roller bladed before and this worked out very well. Just need to get a little more used to it, balance-wise, and more used to the bumps (I'm used to ice, which tends to be much smoother than, say, a sidewalk). (Given that slight inclines make a significant impact on the ease and speed of roller blading, I'm now trying to remember if Mass ave. has any hills - another thing different than very flat ice.) The prospects for how good at it I'll be by the end of the summer, and how this will help my ice skating, are very exciting indeed.

Call me, my friends in Durham (or near here). Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, perhaps even Wednesday lunch, I'm up for grabs.

much love
