Fae
A faery's blood is blue or green in colour.
Faeries will have no lasting power over felines. Cats may be befuddled or unnerved by them, but their glamour does not work on them and they will not be prey to such wiles.
ghillie dhu
Appearance: The Ghillie Dhu shift their forms quite often, but they can usually be seen as men with golden or greenish skin draped in leaves and moss, with long hair in which little plants wind and grow.
Powers: These fae are green men. They can coax plants to grow faster and yeild more fruit. They can also commune with and appeal to the Tree Spirits, and thus make good allies.
Location: The forest.
Temperament: The Ghillie Dhu are generally friendly though very shy, but if someone takes trees they have not marked as all right to take, then they will fly into a rage, communing with the earth itself to extract revenge.
Weakness: These fae cringe away from iron and fire.
IMAGE glaistig
Appearance: The Glaistig has the upper body of a slender young woman. Her hair is butter-yellow and her eyes are goatlike. Her lower legs are those of a goat, and she keeps them covered with a long green skirt.
Powers: The Glaistig can calm animals and help them during difficult or frightening times. They also have a deadly aim, and can drink blood.
Location: Glaistigs might be seen on the forest-side of the river banks. One lives in the stables at the Inn.
Temperament: Generally friendly, but with a propensity for violence.
Weakness: Glaistig shy away from iron and feel uncomfortable in its presence.
IMAGE glanconer
Appearance: The most attractive man you can imagine, etherally twisted and dangerous looking.
Powers: The Glanconer produces some of the most powerful glamour of all the fae. He is a seductor, able to wind his way into a woman's heart and mind and consume her thoughts. Even if a woman is not attracted to males in general, if this fae gets his way, she will only think of him as well. He exists to make women love him, and when they are in his thrall he sucks them of life and energy, and leaves them as a pining husk.
Location: All about Demeleier, though only at twilight, dusk and dawn.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: Glanconers cannot affect men and are powerless if one attacks them. They also shy away from iron.
IMAGE grugach
Appearance: A hideous woman covered all in hair.
Powers: The Grugrach can bless or curse a house depending on the reception she is given. Should someone deny her entry when she asks of a night, she will lead malevolent and violent fae to their homes as punishment. If she is granted shelter, she will do work, tell stories about Demeleier, or even grant a simple wish.
Location: The village.
Temperament: Generally non-violent, but with a propensity for holding a grudge.
Weakness: Iron frightens her.
IMAGE gwyllion
Appearance: Gaunt women with goat's eyes.
Powers: The Gwyllion's power is in her stare. She will fix her glare on travellers and stare at them unblinking until they are out of sight. This stare produces paranoia and feelings of extreme discontent.
Location: All over Demeleier.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: This fae can actually not do any harm to anyone. Breaking her stare will nullify the effects of her power for that day.
IMAGE headless ghost
Appearance: Floating, specteral people with detachable heads.
Powers: These ghosts will rip off their heads and throw them at people. The heads will chase people for a long time, snapping at them.
Location: The cemetery.
Temperament: Aggressive.
Weakness: Bright light will make these fae vanish.
IMAGE hobyah
Appearance: Twisted imps and goblins with long, grasping claws and wide, grinning mouths.
Powers: The Hobyah scream and chant and sing in a group while they descend on their prey and attempt to either kill it or carry it off. Individually, they are difficult to kill but not impossible. In the swarm, it is extremely difficult to fight them.
Location: All over Demeleier.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: These fae are terrified of dogs and will flee if they hear one barking. The touch of iron burns their skin, and prolonged exposure to it makes their flesh shrivel.
IMAGE hyter sprites
Appearance: Small, jewel-bright birds.
Powers: These fae find people who have been lost in the forest and perch on branches just out of sight. They will jump a few branches along as the people follow them until they have led them out of the forest.
Location: The forest.
Temperament: Friendly.
Weakness: They scatter in the presence of dangerous or frightening fae.
IMAGE kelpie
Appearance: The Kelpie comes in black, white and chestnut colours. The horse is overly large, with a mouthful of sharp teeth and very intelligent eyes.
Powers: The Kelpie casts a glamour over itself, making it seem like either a handsome and placid horse, or some form of animal companion from the person's homeworld. When touched out of familiarity or with the intent to wrangle, the Kelpie will shed its glamour. The person will find themslves on the horse's back, charging towards the water and unable to get off of its back. The Kelpie is terrifically strong, said to have the strength of ten horses.
Location: The river.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: Holding iron while on the Kelpie's back will give you a chance to swing off it's back. Wearing your rowan crown will allow you to catch a glimpse of the horse through the glamour if you are paying attention. Forcing a bridle over the Kelpie's head will force the beast into servitude until the bridle is removed, whereupon it will kill or curse its captors.
IMAGE knocker
Appearance: Small gnomes with candles on their helmets and thick, gnarled hands.
Powers: Knockers can home in on precious ores with unnerring accuracy.
Location: The mountains and the ogre caves.
Temperament: Friendly.
Weakness: Knockers have proportionate physical strength, meaning that they are relatively weak.
IMAGE korreds
Appearance: Korreds are roughly three to four feet in height and have heavily wrinkled brown skin. They are quite shy and elect a spokesman, who will be the only one to bear his face. The others will be draped in thick cloaks, the insides of which are often lined with soft locks of hair.
Powers: Korreds are industrious workers and magnificent repairers. They can build time consuming and difficult things in a short space of time for a price. Generally, Korreds will ask for some hair as a price for their work.
Location: The mountains, but occassionally come down to the village.
Temperament: Friendly.
Weakness: Korreds are extremely shy, and cannot work if people are watching them.
IMAGE leanan sídhe
Appearance: The most beautiful woman you can imagine, but ethereal and twisted.
Powers: The Leanan Sidhe has some of the most powerful glamour in Demeleier. She is a faery seductress, able to wind her way into a man's heart and mind and soul. No matter the physical attraction felt towards women, the Leanan Sidhe can make a man love and obsess over her with ease. She exists to make men love her, and when they do she will inspire them to many great things before eating their life and energy and leaving them as empty, pining husks.
Location: All over Demeleier, but only seen at dusk, dawn, and twilight.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: She has no power over women and cannot fight them off if they attack her. She shies away from iron, as it hurts her.
IMAGE leap-upon
Appearance: A Leap-Upon is a hideous beast, about two to three feet high with pointed, bony joints and a wide, grinning mouth.
Powers: In the dark of night, a Leap-Upon will... well, leap up onto the person's back and use them as a taxi for that entire night. Its breath and spittle burns the back of the neck, and its feet dig into the sides of the person's torso.
Location: All around Demeleier, but only at night.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: While the person being lept-upon cannot shake the creature, another party can throw them off of the person's back, should they be wearing their rowan crowns and able to see them.
IMAGE leprechaun
Appearance: Leprechauns are small, barely a foot in height, and wear all green. Their hair is either red or green, and all of them wear beards.
Powers: Leprechauns can turn any liquid into whiskey and any whiskey into water. They delight in causing mischeif, and also leave around gold coins that will vanish the very next day.
Location: All over Demeleier.
Temperament: Friendly.
Weakness: Leprechauns hate iron, and a prolonged tactile exposure will make their physical form vanish.
IMAGE lob
Appearance: A blue-black colour with burning red eyes and long, reaching hands. The Lob is generally invisible, and curls its hands around its prey's neck.
Powers: The Lob thrives on negative emotion, prolonging and worsening the mood of people it latches onto to further its feeding. They latch on to people in foul moods and feed off of them.
Location: All over Demeleier.
Temperament: Malevolent.
Weakness: They become visible when looked at by someone wearing their iron crown. Putting iron to the person's neck, where the lob's hands are, will force it to let go. Happy thoughts, however, are the easiest attack against these creatures.
