I haven't seen such a clear case of childish petulance since ... well, that Tartanboxers incident that you like bringing up. Which is the key to all this, I think.

That's nice. But I think you should have waited a little after your swim before making your post ... you seem to have still been in 'little kid' mode when you wrote it. At least that's one (generous) explanation for the infantilism I see here.

The sheer *stupidity* of what you wrote. The need to get the 'last word', while taking great pains to show that I have no 'power' over you, no sirree! Handwaving insinuations as to my own lifestyle and then childishly attacking same. Misdirection and assumptions on the one hand, attacks on the other.
Sooooo boring.
Soooo infantile. Really, had you written 'Nah nah na na nah!!' at that point it would have blended right in with the rest of the rant. This "codswallop" might have impressed your boys when you had them proofread it in the pool, but it doesn't measure up to adult standards.
The really interesting thing about all this, though, is how *quickly* you descended from the urbane to the uncivilised. From an intelligent HP fan to the affronted shipping fundamentalist. From the Delylah with whom I have conversed for 4+ years ... to a mindless clone of those poor prior opponents of mine whose history you'd been researching.
In 46 hours you went from "I'll play along for now" to my "calling Ginny names that you knew would offend me", my "sneering at [you] behind innocuous smiley faces" and your putting me on trial for my past misdemeanours against the gutter end of the H/G fandom. In less than two days your perusal of past posts turned you into an aggressive and bitter H/G shipper.
I find this *fascinating*!
How could you be brainwashed so quickly? What made you so impressionable? Did my arguments against your fanatic compatriots so enrage and empower you that you felt you had to go to DEFCON 1 in waging your war against the infidel? IN THE NAME OF GINNY WEASLEY, WHOM MADDERBRAD HAS GRIEVOUSLY INSULTED (uhm, months and months ago, and in other blogs, not mine, uhm), ATTTTTAAACCCKKK!!!!
I suspect you took up this battle largely owing to some sort of allegiance to the fangirl zombies I took on more than a year ago. You're just a little bit late coming to the party, that's all ... but you still picked the fight with me regardless. And that's what you were doing here, Delylah. Making mountains out of molehills.
Has anyone in the history of Livejournal ever allowed herself to be prejudiced so quickly ... by the fossils of fandom history?
It really is interesting. I started cottoning on to your brainwashing a few posts earlier, when you starting regurgitating all the tired old "attack Brad so we don't have to think of reasons why we defend Ginny/H/G/Jo" patterns of your failed colleagues. The 'TLDR' was a giveaway; a favourite keyword of those who tried to save face when losing a discussion. I don't recall your saying that before ... and we've had some *lengthy* exchanges. The imaginary notion that there is a statute of limitations on criticising DH. The usual ascribing of my motivation to chagrin at Rowling "failing [me] and Hermione". Yawn.
I've seen it all - and stamped it "FAIL!" - before, Delylah. Although maybe it was all new to you on your not-quite-the-facts finding mission last week.

I was raised to clean up after myself, so sure, I'll do my bit.
Try and divorce yourself from the history books, Delylah, and remember how all this started; I dared to suggest that Ginny *wasn't* a (head) 'bitch', remember? You weren't impressed, but said you'd 'play along', and refuted my argument that she was a 'bully'. Your definition and argument convinced me that I'd used the wrong term ... so I conceded that point to you. All still serene on Delylah's blog ... but then you turned the conversation into being all about *me*. Which was flattering ... maybe if I'd ducked out then I could have saved you from your absorption of all of those repugnant thoughts and mannerisms of the ugly end of your side of the fandom.
Still - going back to the beginning - I'll repeat what I said earlier, and which seemed to almost do the trick until you dredged up past insults against Ginny, Rowling and the H/G sub-fandom. I had no intent of 'hurting' you in posting about Ginny. I wasn't 'trolling' your blog looking for a reaction. I'm sorry I've upset you so much you've gone to all of this trouble and research on account of my comments.
The ultimate thought experiment - knowing how things ended up, would I make the same post if I could do it all over again? No. Although I'm fascinated by how you've been affected by your 'research', no.
