So I was watching good old Buffy season 2 yesterday, and came across the episode Killed By Death (ep18). Fucking terrifying btw, but that's not the point of this post. The point is...
KRIPKE TOTALLY STOLE THE ENTIRE PLOT OF THIS EPISODE FOR SPN!!!
I am of course talking about S1ep18 (18!!!!!!!!!!!), Something Wicked. Let's compare the plots, shall we?
Buffy:
After falling ill with the FLU, Buffy gets sent to the hospital and immediately starts hunting a monster that only children can see. A monster that SITS ATOP THEM AND SUCKS THEIR LIFE FORCE OUT. This monster turns out to also be in Buffy's past, when it killed her cousin when she was just 8.
Supernatural:
The boys investigate a town where children are falling ill and dying from FLU. They immediately start hunting a monster/age old witch. A witch that SITS ATOP THEM AND SUCKS THEIR LIFE FORCE OUT. This witch turns out to also be in the boys' past, when it almost killed Sammy when he was just a child.
HOLY CRAP!! I mean seriously. This is almost identical. Whedon should sue. Btw, guess which one I found scarier. It was Buffy. That monster is terrifying. I had nightmares.
Anyway, rant button off now. It's just astounding how much of Buffy is plagiarised, and not just in SPN. Anything halfway decent in Twilight is either stolen from Buffy or The Vampire Diaries (original novels published 20 years ago). And it just came to her in a dream. Yeah right, Meyers.

You may have noticed my shiny new icon?! This is one of my faves from my next batch, which I promise to post today :D I seriously cannot resist the Buffy comic art. It's just so beautiful! (And Xander is soooo hot.) Yesterday I went shopping and found the comics. I was so tempted to buy one. Despite the fact that I'm only on season 2. Deary me, Lili. Luckily, I had already spent over £70 so I was able to disuade myself!
