Dollhouse Rewatch Thoughts (and sobs): Getting Closer
First of all - Whedon is SUCH an evil genius!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, the tragedy of Topher and Bennett, as a ship and as individual characters is just so poignant. I'm crying again and it's my 3rd viewing!! This line just sets me off....
Topher: (to Ivy) Just run. Don't become me.
With Bennett's blood all over his face! Oh sob. It's just no wonder he turned insane. I'm shocked he was a lucid as he was in Ep 2.
Oooooh the tragedy! Bennett, who had felt lost all her life, then when she felt part of something was rejected by Caroline (because Benni wanted to be captured with her), just found Topher, her perfect match, only to be shot! (In the head, no less. EVIL reference to River's locker room scene in Serenity, when she begs Simon to "put a bullet in my brain-bands". That scene makes me cry now. Yes, I am a geek.)
And Topher! Also lost though part of the odd, dysfunctional family that is Dollhouse. Then found Bennett who he'd had a crush on for years without even meeting her, only to have her killed in front of him. And then of course the tragedy that is Ep 2. Oh dear. Joss, you are an evil genius.
But the main thing I wanted to say - new Dollhouse OTP!!! Enjoyed the chemistry in the first two watches, but I'm hooked now. Of course I am talking about Bennett/Caroline!!
It's just so good. The characters mesh so well, the chemistry and passion's there.... Oh love this ship :D Top place is always Topher/Bennett, but Benni/Caroline is a close second.
Final note: dear Joss, still waiting to find out what happened to Dominic!!! Please explain the scene in Ep 1! Thank you.

PPS: I HAVE BUFFY!!! Or will soon. I ended up giving in and buying it for far too much money. But oh well. My director (Albion) said it's the best money I'll ever spend. So yay! :D
