I really hope Rory gets to, live, stay, whatever. He needs to be on the show. Even if one doesn't ship him with Amy, it's a quite undeniable fact that he and Eleven has great scenes together. And for that fact alone he should be kept (not that I don't like him with Amy, I do, but him and Eleven together can be so funny, or so sad, and I LOVE IT). Also, I hope Arthur Darvill gets loads of jobs after this. I think he would make a great Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman was great, but for some reason I can see AD in that part aswell. ^^), and Robin Hood. I know he is in that movie, but he should play Robin Hood. :D (I think it's the nose. There's just something about it. That and his pretty eyes. *giggles*)

And the ones there are (pretty much just Captain Jack, actually) don't stick around nearly long enough :( I love the dynamic Rory brings to the show. And it breaks up the whole Dr/Companion thing, adds more layers and more story.

(Hated the movie btw. What's most frustrating is that Sam Rockwell is actually perfect for the part of Zaphod, and is capable of playing him properly, but for some reason THEY GOT HIM ALL WRONG AND COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE CHARACTER APPARENTLY NO-ONE UNDERSTANDS ZAPHOD BUT ME!!!!)

HE SO DOES. I mean, already he's been on more than half the season. I think. *counts* Yep, 7 eps of 13 :D That's more than Mickey so far, I believe. In one season, I mean, not in total. And just... it works so well! Rory's pretty much not jealous at all of Eleven anymore, if one am to go by how he watched Eleven check on Amy in TPO, and just waited until they were finished so he could talk to her. I don't think he's been jealous for a while, I think it was all pretty much sorted after AC. And I love it, I love their friendship and how they all get along. And the fact that Rory isn't in the way, he's helpful and useful, and it actually works to have two companions. :D

Rory just rules. Plus at first I didn't like the ship with Amy cos I felt like they didn't match status, like she had higher status than him. Then I was like "wtf! how anti-feminist of me!!". Now I love the fact that to the UNEDUCATED eye, Amy is "settling". Because she's not. And it's nice to have that dynamic. I dunno, it's hard to put into words. Amy/Rory is one of the most feminist ships I've ever seen, plus it's adorable :D

Lol I do that too, it's nothing to be ashamed of! In fact, if it weren't for my Edward Norton obsession 2 years ago, I wouldn't have been introduced to what are now some of my favourite films.

(I do not! *gasp* I've read the books, several times, they're amongst my favorites. I agree fully that they're better than teh movie, but then again, the movie is a bit different, so I feel it's not... it's... it's like an alternate universe, sort of. I did not like the casting of Ford when I first heard and saw it, because he doesn't look like that in teh books. But Mos Def was really good. And as far as Zaphod goes... I was more concerned about teh head issue *grins* To me, the movie is just a bit of fun. *shrug* I have to say though, apart from Martin Freeman as AD, that Slartibartfast, Bill Nighy as him, was fantastic. Surely on that we can agree? ^^)

(Mos Def was not good! He made Ford into a stoner! Ford and Zaphod are my faves. And Ford is snarky, sharp, sarcastic and a bit depressive. He's just awesome. None of the characters in the film had any depth! Apart from Arthur. I loved him. Marvin was awesome too! And Trillian was nice, although she was American and that pissed me off. The only character you could get away with casting as American is Zaphod because he's kinda described as having an American accent. Not obviously, but there's that element there

You're right - I've been hoping for a series to be made of this too. The problem is though, so many (non-HHG books fans) like the film. But yes, they should, and they should keep everything the same because, honestly, why change it? They're cult books, so obviously the plot's doing something right.
I may have to do a post of my perfect cast too! :P Let's see how they compare!
I think Life, The Universe, And Everything is my fave :D The plot is more detailed than the others', and it reveals Zaphod's backstory. But the first is a tie or close second :D You?)

You're right - I've been hoping for a series to be made of this too. The problem is though, so many (non-HHG books fans) like the film. But yes, they should, and they should keep everything the same because, honestly, why change it? They're cult books, so obviously the plot's doing something right.
