Kagome griped under her breath, sweat trailing down her forehead as she waved a small hand fan to cool her skin down. The singing of cicadas outside her open window just added to the protesting heat of the hottest day of the year. She leaned back in her roller chair, her thin tank top soaked through.
“What I wouldn’t give for a pool,” she panted, wishing the little fan had a higher speed.
“Oi, it’s not that hot,” the hanyou’s gruff voice filled her room as he climbed through her window, his shadow some comfort.
The girl cracked an eye, sitting up as she heaved a sigh, “I don’t know how you stand it,” she stretched, feeling so drained. In her motions, her skin stuck tank top pulling tightly over her chest, the dampness outlining her soft curves, “You have all that hair!” she whined, shifting in her chair.
Inuyasha swallowed, gritting his teeth slightly with a harsh snap of his jaw as he abruptly looked the other way. Perspiration covered his face as he defiantly shoved his hands into his sleeves, “Keh,” he grumbled, peeking through his lashes at the young girl who was unaware of the hanyou’s watchful gaze.
Kagome had forgone her lacy contraption she wore under her layers of awkward clothes, leaving her almost completely bare to his golden stare. Not that he was complaining and not like he was going to inform the girl of the fact that her flimsy clothing had become almost transparent from perspiration. He cracked his knuckles to distract himself from the perfect contours of her supple mounds.
Kagome tossed her hands up in defeat, “This heatwave is going to be the death of me!”
“Not if it kills me first,” Inuyasha mumbled under his breath, face bright with a blush.
