Adventures in leaky noses....

Feb 20, 2006 17:46

Typically (for me), I got sick right after exams, not too bad a cough with occasional nasty green stuff coming out. This lasted for over a week. Then I thought I was clearing *it* (wasn't sure if it was an upper respiratory thing or a nasal thing), when my nose started leaking like a sieve in the middle of last week.

So there I am on Wednesday evening in the middle of my Complementary and Alternative Medicine Class - the topic "Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction" trying to so a meditation exercise that involves two raisins while my nose just keeps running and running... "Look at your raisins, imagine their texture and what they will taste like, see their nooks and crannies, each one is different from the other...smell it, imagine the field it grew in, was it rainy or sunny?..."

Needless to say, it is very difficult to relax and really savor your raisin, when you also need to keep your mouth open to breath. There I was breathe, okay, savor, savor, savor, okay have to breathe, now focus on the taste...wait, can't breath....

All better now, but don't try any raisin meditation exercises when you have nasal plumbing problems.
