The gynaecologist reassured me with the news that from her experience the Mirena tended to take 4-6 months for the irregular bleeding to settle, as opposed to the 3 months that the literature touts. It seems to be starting to settle a little in my case, and the cramps are much better. So it's a success already. Just remains to be seen how much of one it is.
ETA - She also made the point that my periods per se have not been taking five weeks. They have been taking the usual time; there has just been irregular unbroken spotting in between.
Just pulled the most amazing Poacher's Pie out of the oven. Like a Shepherd's Pie, only made with venison mince and chunks. The filling included thyme, mushrooms, bacon, marjoram, garlic, onion and most of a bottle of Goundrey shiraz. The topping of mashed potato was doped up with parmesan and egg yolks so that it would crust up properly.
I rock.^_^
But now it's off to work...
