Oh LJ, I don't know how to quit you

I think I'll preface this entry (and my reintroduction to the world of LiveJournal) by saying that I have massive commitment issues with blogs. I have a tendency to start up journals (both online and offline) with the intention of making them a permanent home for my ~thoughts and feelings~ and then I abandon them after a few days of dedicated writing and emotional outpouring. I don't know what that really says about myself as a functional human being but I fully intend for this to be the long-term depository for my thoughts on fandom.

Speaking of which...

I don't know how this quite happened but while Aly Michalka was my sole reason for getting into Hellcats, ASHLEY FREAKING TISDALE somehow became the main impetus for my continued viewing and as somebody who fell in love with Savannah Monroe from the Pilot, this particular episode just magnified my ridiculous love for her.

LOL. OF COURSE THERE'S A FLAG FOOTBALL GAME BETWEEN THE HELLCATS AND THE VOLLEYBITCHES. What a highly consequential storyline!

Seriously, I won't lie. This show is pretty terrible and I know it's not Mad Men or The Wire blah blah blah but omg, it is so much fun and I especially love it when they do crazy little plotlines like these ones because we get to see awesome things like Savannah Monroe being adorably incompetent on the football field and terribly implausible plot contrivances like her winning the game. But honestly, that scene where she miraculously catches the ball (and Alice and Marti both mouth "RUUUNNNNN" in slow motion) was adorable. I also adore the fact that her default comeback to any insult appears to be a highly indignant "Take that back!".

Apart from that though, the rest of the show was kind of snoozy (although I was surprised that Aly Michalka's midriff didn't make an appearance this episode). The secondary plotlines are admittedly getting better so they're vaguely more interesting but I could care less about Marti's big-deal law career. More nonsensical cheerleading, I say. And more of Marti and Savannah being awesome together.

"No. I chose you over lawyering."
D'awwww!
