Marathoning Strike Back: Project Dawn, and, my fuck, it this is in any way accurate in the way soldiers act when on missions, I understand much better how Steve acts sometimes, with the random violence and all that. These guys don't stop to think about saving lives and will abandon civilians if they're a liability to the mission. They're killing ( Read more... )

This ia the first time I've even heard of this show, but from what you're saying I think you've got the right idea about Steve and Danny's reactions there! :D It would be so much fun to read a crossover!

I'd really like a crossover XD. If its anything like Strike Back though it should have conspiration theories and random bunkers in the middle of the Russian forest full of terrorists and a lot of blood and random girls to have sex with. Or they'd go on holiday in Hawaii and all hell breaks loose, because it would!

I'm thinking that either way, it sounds like Steve's idea of a good time! :D

Did a quick wiki, sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads up. The only portrayal of the military in the field (including special ops) I really trust are documentaries. Although there are differences in rules of engagement even within special forces. Black CIA ops vs normal special forces operations I'd wager and we've been hinted that Steve has worked both which only adds more layers of complexity to our fav SEAL :D

Hmmm. Very interesting.

This show's main characters are one British soldier and one American, and the American is anti-terrorism something something that is super black ops, according to wiki. I have no idea how accurate it is, but if it is accurate in any way, then I understand the random bursts of violence much better...

It's a good show, if you're into that kind of stuff!

I saw it on my f-list last week. I like the fact it's seems to be filmed with integrity and not blasting with rock and roll music and ra, ra, ra stuff.

I'm a bit worried about how much it might give away, but trust it's only a sliver of what is secret.

I actually want the writers to make Steve more "military, SEAL-like" than the goofy smiling "Uncle Steve" - I mean some of that's okay but he's been military longer than he was a civilian - and he isn't going to change in a year of being Stateside....

but they have to appeal to a broad range of viewers and I'm certainly NOT complaining about what we have but there is more to Steve than has met the eye so far - concerning his "other life" that we haven't seen so much of yet....

that also might be why I was one of the few who actually liked the 3rd eppy with the SEAL stuff at the end...it was like being a "voyeur" into a life I will never know anything about coz I'm not military.....

Well, I don't really want him to be more SEAL-like. I didn't like that episode, I hated the end of it, definitely. I like war movies and tv shows, but I really didn't like that part of it.

And I agree, there is much more to Steve than we know, but I think his evolution from being very cold and bossy at the beginning of S1, into who he is now is really interesting, and I like watching this more than I'd like watching him being a SEAL all the time, I believe.

I was just saying, basically, that I understand the random 'unnecessary' violence better watching Strike Back, because these men are reckless, and they have to be.

I like my show as it is, though ^^.
