Back in the USA

I have a lot of catching up to do. Which I will attack in bits and pieces, based on my paper journal (I'm so glad I keep a paper journal) and my pictures and wandering into Ellen's study from time to time to ask the name of the place where we saw all the cool flowers and weren't there two steam engines? And where was that slate works we didn't have time to stop for?

Usually, the day after coming home, I'd be hip-deep in dirty laundry and mail and piles of Things Brought Home For Friends to be labeled so we didn't forget who we'd bought them for. This time, it's bed and hot tea and decongestant and throat lozenges and plenty of naps, because I really need to get enough better so that I can do the two (count 'em) two reading gigs I'm scheduled to do this weekend, and which I will tell you all about as soon as I've perked up my remaining brain cells with medication and tea.

Right now, all I have to say is that flying with a burgeoning head cold isn't as much fun as you might think. And that I'm very grateful to Virgin Atlantic for taking some of the curse off  by making it possible for me to watch  Coraline, Monsters vs. Aliens, and part of Star Trek.  When I feel better, it'll be Miscellaneous Welsh Castles, followed by Dethick and Oxford.  Oh, and I need to tell you about Troilius and Cressida and Oliver!, too.  I've had "A Fine Life" going through my head all week.

Right now, though, I'm going back to bed.

thoughts, sick
