Snippet - No Pairing - Pirates of the Caribbean

So, if you haven't seen the movie, this is both insanely spoilery and highly plot-dependent. So read it if you like, but it won't make sense until you've seen the film. Which I highly recommend. Because it ROCKS!

Thanks, Romie. I'm so glad I wasn't the only one wondering about Bootstrap.

Love you,

Amazing story, I was too focused on Jack (duh) to think about Will.

I only saw one thing that could pose a problem. I was acutally wondering what kept Bootstrap from fighting his way to the surface and then finding his way to a shore of some sort; or being picked up by a passing ship like his son was. He could probably have walked along the bottom of the ocean for amazing lengths of time. It'd been 10 years. Why would he still be in the ocean? why not hiding out in a bar somewhere in London, far away from all the insanity (where, one would assume, he'd be safe from people trying to kill him).

Not ragging - just thinking out loud as it were.

Bootstrap couldn't make it to shore because he was chained to a cannon. To quote that really ugly sucker who hung out with the guy with the wooden eyeball "The captain tied a cannon to Bootstrap's bootstraps." Thus, I keep thinking that Bootstrap is still on the bottom of the ocean.

Love you too hon,

ah! well...as cannon would have made him sink faster but it was tied to his bootstraps (i.e. his feet) so there'd be no reason why (after he'd drowned maybe) that he couldn't have untied himself and escaped...

though maybe i'm giving him too much credit and the pirates too little for not taking away his knife...or his teeth too much credit seeing as how they might not have been sharp enough...or his back none too limber as to make that kind of escape.

*shrug* Luv

I think if Barbosa sunk Bootstrap, he would have made sure Bootstrap stayed sunk. Thus, escape was probably not much of an option. LOL. We do this with the weirdest things.

Love you too,
Delia
