So I'm at the circulation desk yesterday, and the lady I work with is staring outside and asks, "Hey, do you know who died?"

I looked up at her like "?" and she nodded to the flagpoles outside.

"Uh... I think that's because it's September 11th."

Yesterday I finished The Genius by Jesse Kellerman.  It was really good.  I haven't ever read any of the Kellerman's work, but I do find it facinating that husband, wife and son are all, not just successful novelist, but good novelist.  I picked this one up because it centered around an art dealer who finds an apartment full of abandoned drawings that leads to a 50 year old murder mystery.  I enjoyed it.

I also read Christine Feehan's Dark Curse.  It followed the pattern of lost Carpathian male finding his immortal beloved who restores his soul.  Lara, the mate, survived a childhood imprisoned in the ice caves, being used as food.  So she has some issues, and information that will help the survival of their species.  It had all the things Feehan brings to her books: peril, excitement, stubborn alpha males.

The book stack is shrinking.  I haven't been reading as much because I have been obsessively looking for a new job.

stupid, book
