The first preseason games of this season are officially, as they say, in the record books. The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the new-look Tampa Bay Lightning 5-4 in a shootout.

Speaking of the delayed naming of Captains, the Tampa Bay Lightning offically named Vincent Lacavalier as team captain today. I swear to god they already did this, and why the hell not?

I guess this is probably the kind of thing that teams do right before training camp, but still. Why wait?
