Speeding in the fast lane.

I did actually do the 12 of 12 the past two months, but never got around to posting the pictures. Before I end up racking up yet another unposted set, let's do them now so I'll be ready for tomorrow. (Tomorrow's the 12th, folks! It's January, perfect time to join in! :D)

November

I didn't manage a full 12 in November, since a bunch of plans didn't work out, but here's what I have. I had the day off that month.

12:18 PM: A dusting of snow behind my apartment building, as seen from my balcony. This was right after I woke up. I must've been really wiped from work. ^^;;

12:18 PM: More of same. I slept through a write-in I'd been planning to go to, too.

2:16 PM: Chatting and catching up on The Colbert Report. As this was November, I should've been working on my NaNo. Clearly, I wasn't.

4:31 PM: I finally changed our dry-erase calendar to November. Yup, on the 12th. lol moast lazy. Holy crap, did we have those Cub Holiday Bucks for that long? o_O

5:33 PM: Making dinner. Some sort of Hamburger Helper thing.

6:18 PM: Oh look, it was a scalloped potatoes deal. Here I was looking up directions to a NaNo write-in I was planning to go to. Disappointment not pictured, but it turned out to be a lot further away than I thought. In rush hour.

6:32 PM: Ready to go. And hiding in the darkness because shy. /o\ If you have good eyes, you might have noticed my calendar said this event starts at 6:30. And it's veeeery far away...

7:31 PM: Clearly, I am not at the write-in but, in fact, on my couch. nephthysmoon started IMing my phone right as I was about to go and guilt-tripped me about leaving her. >P Plus, I was going to be really late. So I wimped out and stayed home. At least I started working on my NaNo? :D? Yargh, though, that's a lot of red ink on my report card spreadsheet. >.<

7:42 PM: Totoro hanging out next to me. And that's as far as I got in November; since I didn't make it to any write-ins I didn't have anything interesting to take more pictures of.

December

In December I at least got a full set, even if they're lol boring because work. (I got confused for a minute here, because I mixed up my 2008 pictures with my 2007 pictures - I've officially been doing the 12 of 12 for a full year! \o/)

4:52 AM: Waking up. Day shifts are boo. My clock is set 20 minutes fast so I don't oversleep. It doesn't really help. :\

5:17 AM: Cute doggies on my bedframe :D My sister and I bought them at World Market. I was very tired and envying my teddy bear ;_;

5:45 AM: Office building on the way to work. A few people turned off their lights when they shouldn't have, but you get the idea. They do this every year.

9:21 AM: Oatmeal breakfast at work. Tastes better than it looks, I promise.

11:53 AM: On the way back from lunch. I never thought I'd see a 1 on a gas station sign ever again...

I was going to take a picture during lunch, but I was too weirded out by the elderly gentleman sitting at the next booth in Perkins who chatted me up and then paid for my lunch. ._.

11:58 AM: Snow on the bushes in the parking lot at work. We're having a "normal" Minnesota winter here for the first time in years.

4:42 PM: The usual traffic leaving the complex at the end of the day. I'm stuck until 6, so I miss it. Embarrassing reflection is embarrassing, but I really like this picture.

6:32 PM: Running errands after work. I found it amusing that Target had a row of carts lined up and ready for incoming shoppers.

Another story of shame. While I was rushing around in Target, trying to get my shopping done ASAP, one of the employees called out "Hi [real name]" as I hurried by. I said hi back automatically and smiled, but kept on walking because I was in a hurry - it didn't sink in until I was around the corner that she'd obviously known me. And I had no idea who she was. My facial recognition skills are ultimate fail, no exaggeration. I could see this person every day and still not know them at a glance, I have no memory for faces. By the time I got over my mortified embarrassment enough to go back and look for her, she'd disappeared. I still feel bad about it; what if she thought I blew her off because she was working at Target? Lousy blind brain. :(

6:46 PM: Picking up part of my sister's Christmas present - a gift card to my massage place. :3

7:09 PM: Christmas lights display on the way home.

7:24 PM: My camera's not good at night pictures, but the full moon through the trees as I pulled up to the garage door was so pretty I had to try.

7:35 PM: Part of my Christmas tree. :D

And a bonus pic that I ended up with while experimenting with angles and zooms for the above photo:

Crazy neon squigglies!

And that gets me all caught up so I'm ready for a new 12 tomorrow. :D
