Well, I've made my decision...
The last offer to come in was for my top choice in religion and #2 overall: UC Riverside. They've accepted me with funding. A Dean's Distinguished Fellowship kind of funding.
Yeah. Getting in and not being in hideous amounts of debt? Priceless.
So that's where I'll be. PhD religious studies, UC Riverside. I'm gonna be a Highlander. (Well, I already am, by heritage, but still.)
I found out at work and it hit me. It didn't hit with the letter from Claremont or the letter from UDenver/Iliff, either. But UCR's email? It was a rush: I was shaking, it hit so hard. This is finally, officially real.
I've said for a long time that I didn't know what was scarier: not getting in or getting in. I'm exhilarated, but also? I'm a little terrified. In a good way. The opportunity is here; let's see what we can do with it.
