She'd thought returning to Olympus would be a piece of cake, how little did she expect to get so tied up in work over the holidays that going home had slipped her mind entirely.
She hadn't even Christmas shopped! But she'd send them all some kind of...
Fact being, some goodies were already in the bag. She'd just have to send them now that she'd prepared them...all. Actually Christmas shopping would have been difficult, she didn't really know who was all on Olympus anymore...
This was the best she could do...for now.
Unexpectedly, a basket shows up at each and every doorstep on Olympus. Inside the baskets were a combination of fruits, sausages, chocolates, and wines from Iris.
She was leaving Georgia, Iris didn't see a point in staying with Zeus not around those parts anymore. He had been king, she'd been one of his and Hera's messenger's and now he wasn't king.
So she'd turned in her two weeks notice, two weeks ago and she'd found a family that had been really down on their luck. It was the worst kind of luck, their house had caught fire about a week before all the Yuletide holiday cheer. But they had each other, and now they had Iris' house. She had given them her house and everything in it. The only things she had kept had been a few clothes and her jeep. There wasn't needing any of the rest of it were she was headed.
Iris turned her uniform and keys in, and felt the wind on her face as she walked out the post office door to freedom from heel bitten, federal employee hell. Once she had driven past state lines, she'd pulled off onto a back road and within seconds later the arch of a rainbow touched down on a street in Olympus.
After the rainbow disintegrated, Iris and her Grand Cherokee were in it's place.
