An offer you can't refuse

Candy-apple nails scraped against the wall of War's temple as a visitor - a rather distinct visitor - found her way through various rooms and chambers. She'd left her husband sleeping off a heavy dose of Seduction - afterall, someone as busy as Zeus' herald would need his energy for all of that...flitting around he did, wouldn't he ( Read more... )

Intuiting an extraneous presence within his newly refurbished Temple, as he can detect even the faintest disturbance in any place he has thoroughly claimed, be it battlefield or his own consecrated ground, Ares blinks into a corner beside where Peitho has situated herself ( ... )

A rankness to her? Peitho quirked a brow. That wasn't exactly a point-winning statement, was it? Tucking away a piece of hair that was nowhere near out of place, Peitho crossed one long leg over another and eyed him carefully.

"Technically, I'm wearing Chanel, but since I am his wife...I guess it wouldn't be hard to detect his essence on me"

Not to mention that she'd just spent the better part of nearly two days engaging in sexual acts with her rather immature, immortal husband - a shower could only wash away the physical evidence of him, Hermes' scent still clung to her skin like cigarette smoke after a night out.

"You don't really like my husband, do you?"

Upon the citing of her rather inconvenient title as Mrs. Winged Sandals, he unlaces his arms to direct the right hand’s index finger at the still reposing woman with an elevated brow. “Ahh.. You must be Peitho, then.” He had not heard much, or rather...paid any heed at all to any of the trickling down hearsay of his galling sibling’s marriage, but, when seeing the spoils that was Peitho, Ares almost wished he had discharged more attention over the affair..

Meandering reservedly forward, War listens to and considers the inquiry made of him vigilantly. Halting a step before the seated Goddess, Ares looks to her visage, and slowly a smirk taints his lips.. “I suppose that is a just assertion.” Listing his head to the left, he boosts a brow. “Why do you ask?”

Peitho smiled.

"I must be"

She kept her smile on, even though she had no idea what Hermes had said to her. He hadn't answered her question...had he answered her question? She couldn't tell, it was just...confusing! A simple yes or no would have sufficed...couldn't people do that anymore without wondering what you were up to?

And...he knew her name? Though Peitho liked to think the entire pantheon should know her name, she was fully aware that in reality, it didn't. So...how did Ares know her? She doubted he'd remember Aphrodite ever mentioning her. Had Hermes said something?

She shook the thought off. It wasn't important. Actually, it was kind of good that more than...oh, two Olympians knew her name. It certainly beat watching people play the 'which one are you again' game.

Tilting her head, Peitho ran her nails over the arm of the chaise and looked up with guilty innocence, smiling.

"Because if you do...then I might have a very tempting offer for you"
