She screamed in wretched agony, but nothing passed her lips in the fog. Piercing, twisting, aching pain lashing from every depth and corner of her mind. She heard the cries of the River Goddess and those tied to her with a violent vision of blood. Everything in her vision was drenched in red. Athena was reduced to her knees in the roadway that supposedly lead her to the Underworld King.
For a time, only darkness and pain could breach her thoughts. Some terrible injustice was being done, someone was suffering and she could feel it. Worse, she could not subside it. The Lady of War bit back another wretched cry, not willing to reach out from despair and ask for help. She would not dare show such a weak face to her family...
Family. She could feel the heartbeat of an Olympian.
She could feel Hermes.
Athena's head lifted to see the world spinning so vastly uncontrollable she could not even fathom what control was. She could not continue on this path without some sort of guidance; the disturbance alone had caused her to go blind. And rather than continue and wallow in her own sense of pride and courage. She did what she had to do to save herself from Oblivion.
"Hermes...I need your help!" Athena whimpered, desperately reaching out to her brother's presence."I'm utterly lost and blind."
"Blast it, boy...Come help your sister!"
