Which, okay, Jared realizes that wearing a hoodie period to a non-campus bar is kind of the stupidest thing ever. Except that he's now struggling for air--all because Chad's stupid jacket is apparently even more useless than its owner and the zipper's stuck right at the top--so Jared figures he would've looked better if he walked in wearing a muumuu.
Jensen leans over, face a little worried. "Are you okay? Do you, uh, need some help or something?"
Jared shakes his head quickly. "No, I'm fine. Zipper's just--" Jared pulls down on it once for demonstration "--stuck," he finishes lamely.
"Oh," Jensen says, frowning. "Okay."
The bartender comes back entirely too soon with their beers. "Drinks up," he says, pushing the bottles to them. He stands expectantly, and Jared does not need this right now.
Jared flashes him a tight smile, which apparently doesn't work that great on the guy considering he mostly looks annoyed. "Just a sec, I need to--" he pulls on the zipper again, hard enough that he's kind of shocked it doesn't just break off, and then Jensen's reaching into his pocket. "No, dude, I've got it."
"It's okay, you can get the next round," Jensen's saying, and Jared's shaking his head.
"No, c'mon, I invited you. I'm not gonna let you pay, just. My wallet's in the jacket pocket."
Jensen frowns and nods. "Okay, sure." He moves his hand over to Jared's pocket, hovering unsurely. "Do you want me to just...?"
Jared nods. "Uh huh, just--grab it."
So Jensen does. Jensen goes in, reaches for it, and sets Jared's wallet and a red condom wrapper on the bar top. The bartender snickers, suddenly looking much less annoyed, and Jensen just looks a little surprised. Jared kind of wants to die. And of course that's when his zipper finally comes loose.
"Uh," he says, glancing between the bartender's smirk and Jensen's wide eyes, all while trying not to blush; seriously, Chad is dead. He clears his throat. "Um, that's. That's not mine."
"Whatever you say, kid," the bartender says, smirk still in place. He takes a couple bills from Jensen and heads away from them, and Jared's face is burning as he stuffs his wallet back into his pocket.
Jared stares at the condom for a couple of seconds, not really sure what to say apart from, "My roommate is a sex-crazed pig who buys condoms like I do candy." So he scratches the back of his neck and says, "No, um, seriously. That's not mine." Jensen looks dubious at best, so Jared continues. "I'm serious! This jacket belongs to my roommate and uh--it must be his. I mean, I don't want to have sex with you. No, shit, I do! Just, not on the first date. Or well, okay, that's not true, but that'd only be if you were into it; I wouldn't just show you a condom and go, 'Surprise! Condom!' and expect you to sleep with me. Um."
"Right. Okay," Jensen says after a beat, nodding. His face his carefully blank, and Jared thinks he should probably just start ordering shots right now.
Jensen finally takes the condom off the bar top and sticks it back into Jared's pocket. He smirks a little. "You know, just in case we need it later."
Jared nods, a little stupidly as Jensen calmly takes a drink of his beer, and he thinks maybe Chad won't have to die after all.

HAHAHAH... I love that my date said kinda the same thing... "that's not meant to be there.." HAHA
I cannot tell you how fabulous it is to have a real life situation come to life like this between Jared and Jensen.
