AN: This bunny has been lurking at the back of my mind ever since this conversation.

“Anything on TV?” Connor dropped onto the sofa with a bounce, almost spilling Nick’s cup of tea everywhere.

“There’s a natural history documentary I was thinking of watching,” Nick said, removing his tea to the relative safety of the coffee table. He noticed Connor’s less than ecstatic expression and added, “It’s about dinosaurs.”

“Cool,” Connor grinned. He took his shoes off, tucked his feet up onto the sofa and cuddled up next to Nick, leaning against his shoulder.

They were five minutes into the programme when Connor commented, “Well that’s wrong. Raptors don’t hunt like that.”

“To be fair to the documentary makers, they’ve never actually seen a raptor hunting,” Nick pointed out.

“Don’t you find it frustrating watching this stuff now we’ve seen the real things?”

“No. And to be honest, it’s useful to keep up to date with the current research and ideas so you don’t end up looking like an idiot if you happen to meet up with ex-colleagues in academia.”

All was quiet again for another ten minutes or so before Connor said, “Wrong again,” in response to a statement about T-rex behaviour.

“Connor! Are you going to be doing this all the way through the programme?”

“Sorry.” Connor didn’t look particularly contrite, but he snuggled a little closer and it was too much effort for Nick to be properly annoyed with him.

It was less than seven minutes later when Connor started, “That’s a load of rub-”

Nick twisted round, pinned Connor against the sofa and kissed him until he stopped trying to speak. When Nick finally let go, Connor looked adorably startled.

“If you wanted me to shut up, you could have just said so.” He flashed Nick a cheeky smile, “Although actually I think I prefer that method.”

“You’re not going to keep quiet at all, are you?” Nick said with more amusement than annoyance.

Connor tried to make use of his hurt puppy expression, but he was still smirking too much for it to be in any way effective.

Nick pushed Connor back again and kissed him, his lips exploring along Connor’s jaw and down his neck to nuzzle at the young man’s throat. Connor made a low, content purring sound and wriggled a little beneath him, his hands sliding around Nick’s waist and tugging his t-shirt up. In the background, the TV was saying something about triceratops mating behaviour.

“Well that’s blatantly wrong,” Connor murmured.

Nick sighed and reached for the remote control.
