drabble: Mating Season
Written for the Primeval 100 past challenge - Keeping Cool, and also for zenosaur from the drabble prompts I took a while back.
Also, If you asked for a drabble and I still haven't done it, I haven't forgotten, it's just taking longer than I thought to do something for all of them.

Rex basked in the sunlight on his favourite ledge, watching the antics below with interest.
At first he had blamed their strange behaviour on the heat, but now he wasn’t so sure. Rex knew some creatures became more colourful in the mating season, but his girl and boy were becoming less colourful as they shed more and more layers.
Bringing each other food was clearly a mating ritual, but frozen food? And surely it was supposed to be eaten, not smeared on their bodies?
And all the tumbling around together? Well, they were never going to stay cool like that!
