When they finally get home Connor still looks terrified, even though he wasn’t the one in danger this time.
Abby just wants to curl up and forget about her encounter with teeth and claws, but he’s fussing and doing that thing again, when the thoughts in his head aren’t translating properly. It doesn’t matter, Abby knows him well enough to understand.
She knows that when he makes her three cups of tea in a row, it’s because he daren’t just hold her.
And when he stumbles over saying, “I’m glad you’re safe,” what he really means is, “I love you.”
