Becker didn’t have a death wish. In fact, he actually quite liked being alive. Most of the time.
Mind you, Captain Ryan and Stephen Hart had probably quite liked being alive as well, and yet they had both sacrificed themselves protecting Cutter. Cutter, who had then rather conspicuously died only a few months later on Becker’s watch.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, there was Sarah. And countless soldiers under his command.
Becker didn’t want to die, but if he had to sacrifice himself in the line of duty he would.
Maybe then people might speak his name with respect.
