my fan superstition and the laker glimmer of hope

my apologies to laker fans all around.

throughout the post-season, i have been running/playing simulations of laker games in nba live. i've beaten denver a couple of times, as well as utah and the spurs. but after the western conference finals, i stopped doing that, partly because of how great the recently concluded lost season was, and that we we're winning without my "rituals" before every laker playoff game.

so after the devastating loss in game 4, which placed the celtics imminent of the championship ring, aside from blaming phil jackson, i partly blamed myself from not playing my part. it sounds stupid, but you never know.

i was about to sleep friday night when i suddenly had the urge to play another game. so i got up and turned on my xbox. i just wanted to beat the celtics so bad. i wanted to punish them, even if it was just a video game.

so, i beated up the celtics by around 90 points. the score was something around 190-80, with kobe scoring 59, gasol 30, and vujacic 30, which was mostly on threes because the nba live ai was doubling kobe with ray allen.

anyway, after today, the lakers escaped their 1st elimination game. it wasn't a pretty game for the lakers, but a win is a win.

i still believe that the celtics would win the title, but if the lakers steal game 6, as i said many times today at work, all bets are off.
