aggressiveness from lamar odom, getting that goal tending against garnett. hopefully this time he sustains this the whole game.
- now this is the lakers that we know this post-season. the odom and gasol that destroyed camby, martin, boozer, and duncan.
- when odom plays like this, everything goes well for the lakers. it opens up gasol, as well as take some pressure off laker guards and shooters.
- celtics are lost right now, down 20-6. pierce needs to do something
- just to point out. the lakers are at 26 right now. if hypothetically the score 30 this quarter, they're poised to score 120 points. not a good sign for the celtics
- pierce and allen starting a run for the celtics
- eddie house needs to buy a bucket for the laker defense to adjust
- good to see ariza hit a three. just showing up for the finals this post-season.
- 35-14 lead by the lakers ending the first quarter. the celtics have 36 minutes to erase that
- small ball for the lakers. ariza playing with walton instead of turiaf. seems to be paying off with all the activity ariza is doing.
- somebody needs to help garnett on the offense. the celtics aren't making the lakers pay for the small frontline.
- another mini-rally by garnett and allen. lakers, for the first time tonight, look stagnant in their offense. quick timeout by phil
- huge run by the celtics bringing down the lead to 12. the small lineup works for them.
- what a three by jordan farmar! nice substitution by phil to put him in to replace radmanovic, who committed a stupid foul the last play. lakers lead by 18, 58-40
- just saw on the halftime stat that odom shot 7 for 7
- and he just missed
- that kobe basket against pierce seemed to be a sure thing. before he got the ball, he was denied heavily by pierce. seemed to take it personally. that's the mamba for you
- gasol and odom are hustling. have they been reading sports columns or blogs?
- now that's a finals foul by fisher. another run by the celtics. lakers have to realize that the celtics won't give up
- why did radmanovic just let ray allen lay that in? is this a pre-season game or something? i think the space cadet is on mars.
- laker lead down to 6. anything still can happen
- with the lakers up by 3 with 5 minutes remaining, this has been the best game so far in the finals. if the celtics win tonight, they win the championship, just because they gain tons of momentum for staging the comeback.
- clutch play from garnett to put boston up by 5 with 2 minutes remaining. the celtics know where to go, the lakers are lost.
- james posey has been big. odom not exploiting that enough
- as i said. posey has been big.
- did you hear how quiet the staples center was.
celtics win it 97-91. could we consider this as one of the greatest comeback games in the history of the finals. not only does it put the celtics one win away from the championship, but it drains away all that confidence the laker built from the last quarter of game 2 to the first half of game 4.
looking at the box scores, it seemed that the lakers won this game, with all five starters scoring double digits. the problem was, most of it was in the first quarter. they were actually outscored by the celtics in the last 3.
i also couldn't help but notice that somehow, phil jackson has been outcoached in his last 2 finals appearances. he didn't adjust against the pistons in 2004, and he failed to adjust yet again this game, notably on james posey.
i see the celtics winning the championship on game 5. the lakers have the will to win their last game at home this season, but i just can't see that happening with the meltdown today
