Lay your hand on me one last time

Here I am. It feels good to be writing again. I never write, but whenever I do my mind just feels at ease, even if I really have nothing to write about. I enjoy writing, even though I never do it. It's amazing how my livejournal can be helpful during times that I would never think I would need it for. For a couple of months now, the fan on my Toshiba has been extremely loud and running really fast, causing my computer to get extremely hot. I knew this wasn't a good thing, because the fan running like that can cause my computer to overheat or crash, although I never did anything about it. The other day, the fan was not only being loud, but it started making a clicking noise too. That's when I knew I needed to do something, and needed to find out if my warranty was still in effect, and what the warranty would cover for repairs. However, I did not have my receipt anymore, and going through my statements from 2007 may have taken awhile. I remembered that I had written about buying my computer in my livejournal, so I just logged on and just scrolled down and found out when I got the Toshiba!

December came and went. December 22 was Tiffany's 21st birthday, so we went out to Oriental Gardens for food and drinks. Mom's birthday was December 23, and we didn't do anything special since the next two days would be entirely devoted to family. On Christmas Eve, my family and I went to my Uncle's house and had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner with my dad's side of the family. Although, it was only my Uncle Phil, Aunt Doris, my nana, and my cousin Nicole stopped by for a little while. Now that most of my cousins have their own families, it is hard for everyone to get together on one day. Christmas day was spent with my parents, sister, and Dave. Most of my gifts were the necessities that are extremely helpful to get (shampoo & conditioner, socks, etc.), but I also did get a coach purse that I LOVE, and an iPod Touch. We had chicken for dinner, and played games like Apples to Apples and Scattergories. On December 27, we went out again for Tiffany's birthday, and we went to the Beijing with Lizz, Jenna, Mike, and Allyson. Allyson and I sang "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls for karaoke, and Mike sang "Living on a Prayer" and "Tubthumping".  It was a lot of fun. On the 28th, Allyson and I met up with Benny in Freeport and went shopping at the outlets. I ended up getting a sweater from J.Crew and new heels from Nine West.

For New Years, Benny came down from Maine on the 30th, and a bunch of us were all supposed to go out.  However, because of the snowstorm, most of our plans backfired. It ended up being Benny, Allyson and I who went out to eat at Margarita's, and then we went back to my house and had drinks. Then Tiffany and Mike came over to watch the ball drop and hang out for the first few hours in 2009. January 3 was my family reunion (on my mom's side). Everyone was there, except for my cousins Joey and Adam. I love that reunion every year, because it is really good to see my whole family.  Even my grandparents were there, for the first time in 15 years! They normally are in Florida for the winter, but they decided to come up this year for some reason, but I was very happy to see them. Benny left on the 4th, and I spent the rest of my winter break working and hanging out with friends. The last thing I really did over break was I went out to eat with Allyson, Andy, and Hayley at Ruby Tuesdays, and then went back to Andy's and hung out until 2:00AM.

I moved back to Merrimack on January 11. Classes started on the 12th. For my last semester, I managed to get all my classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I am taking my business internship on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Classes have been okay so far, but it is hard to judge since I have only had 1-2 courses in each class.

Family things have been kinda rocky lately. Not as in relationships or anything, but as in life in general. My company my dad works for just filed for bankruptcy and is going through a bunch of layoffs. The company where my mom works is going through layoffs as well, so we have just being dealing with things day-by-day and praying for the best. Also, my grandfather had a heart attack the other day, which is always scary for any family. He is doing okay though, which is good to hear, but the doctors are going to keep their eyes on him to make sure he's okay and see if he needs surgery.

Well, I should probably get ready for bed. I will hopefully write more sooner rather than later.
