I am so SICK to death of people assuming that I am living in New Zealand because I love Lord of the Rings...NOT TRUE!
True facts:
I LOVE all three LOTR movies
LOTR was filmed in New Zealand
I was aware of the beauty and draw of New Zealand BEFORE LOTR
The Tribe was filmed BEFORE LOTR in New Zealand
It was these actors/surroundings that encouraged me to learn more about New Zealand, Kiwi culture and everything that encompasses that.
So please please understand that me living here in New Zealand is more then about loving to watch a movie, being obsessed with actors or whatever. Please to undermine my decision by attributing them to something to arbitrary as a movie.
I do recall my freshman year of high school talking with my very good friend DJ that there was no reason in the world why we couldn't do what we wanted in life even if that included going to New Zealand. Life circumstances allowed me to come here and I think it's just a great attribute to New Zealand that a KIWI such as Peter Jackson could create something such as LOTR which would make people assume that is what is driving the major decisions in my life.
Normally I don't mind when people joke that I moved here because I love LOTR...but lately I feel that it undermines how people see me as an adult. GRRR
