I'm getting really frustrated by the student loan process. Granted, most people go through this during undergrad when they still have their parents to help them figure it out, but I still feel like no one has told me ANYTHING here! I was initially told that loans can't be disbursed until within 10 days of the start of classes, but that was last week and I haven't heard or received anything. Since my next month's rent is due on MONDAY and I have about $50 to my name, I finally called the Financial Aid Office and got an automated message. It said that loans were disbursed last Wednesday and checks would be going out this week IF you're enrolled. Well, our orientation (aka placement exams and class registration) isn't until this Thursday.. so I guess I'm not technically enrolled? Which means I don't get any money until, what, mid-September? Which means I'm kind of screwed, not to mention REALLY frustrated. I budgeted really carefully for rent, utilities, moving expenses, etc, and at this point, that was all for nothing! I've had to borrow money from David for all of my furniture and moving expenses, and it looks like I'll have to ask my parents for my next month's rent. I know I'll be able to reimburse them when I finally get my money, but it's embarrassing to have to ask when I specifically planned to take care of it all myself!

I just wish SOMEONE would tell me what to expect or give me accurate information when I ask.
