Do you have to take a test to get a driver's license there? I didn't when I got mine here...they just take your old license away from you. Weird.

You have to take the written test (which is on the computer) and pay 10 bucks. Then pay 56 dollars to get a license. Oh, and you have to pay 21 dollars to have an emissions test done which is stupid to me because my car is brand new and certified to be low emission, so why do I need this test already? It's just a ploy to make money I'm sure. Then it's going to be over 120 dollars to register my car and get two plates since they have plates on the front and back of thier cars. Why, I don't know! I can't figure out why some states have one and some have two. I really like Portland so far, but at times it seems like they want to charge people to go outside and breath. I mean, you can't get anything accomplished here without paying some sort of fee. I've never seen anything quite like it ( ... )
