Single's Awareness Day

Feb 14, 2009 22:09

I am going to start wearing more dresses.

I'm also going to start running down by the river. OK, maybe more like jogging. I don't think I have the lung capacity right now to really RUN, especially in the cold. Since I can't afford a gym membership and apparently all the gyms around here are overcrowded and meat markets, I'm not going to pay for that. I hate working out in a crowded gym full of guys that have staring problems and from what I've heard from people, this is a problem in all of the affordable gyms around here. LAME.

It's Oregon's 150th birthday apparently and there are a lot of things that are free going on. Tomorrow the Oregon Historical Society's museum is having free admission, so I'm going to walk over there and check it out. Then on Monday, the Japanese Gardens are having free admission so I'm going with some people to check that out too. I <3 free things. Now if only someone would have some free food somewhere...

I wish I had a bike! They have this event tomorrow called "The Worst Day of the Year Ride" and it looks like a lot of fun. Oh well, maybe next year. If I wasn't so horribly uncoordinated, I would consider getting a bike and using that as my main mode of transportation, but I have no doubt that within in a month, I'd get hit by a car (or hit a car) or something and since I have no health insurance, that would be bad.

I didn't get the job I interviewed for a week ago. Even though I felt like the interview went pretty well, they were interviewing A LOT of people and while some of us were waiting for our interview, they were all talking about the YEARS AND YEARS of experience they had in social services. I knew I was done right there. haha. OH WELL. Good things come to those who wait, right?

I'm super tired as I had the shit scared out of me about 3 AM this morning when like 400 fire engines (at least it seemed like 400) went roaring by my window. That is such a horrible way to be woken up let me tell you. Then I had to get up early and go meet my hiking group (well, I didn't HAVE to, but I RSVP'd 'yes' so I felt obligated to go) and hike 6 miles. It was fun though. Muddy, but fun.

Anyways, Happy Valentine's Day to those with valentines and Happy Single's Awareness day to those of us who are happily (or not so happily) independent!
