Don't 'cha

Pride weekend. Gotta love it.

Concerts and booths. Drag queens and parties. The thing I liked most about this weekend was all the free stuff I’m now stocked with including ink pens, the best lip gloss ever and inflatable bats. I’ll hopefully have some good pictures turning out as well that I can show everyone since I’m still on the ancient system of “developing” pictures.

Saturday day Jess and I went to a wedding shower for a late 20’s female couple that she knows. It was moving and sweet. Jess’ mom helped organize the whole thing so it was nice to see how supportive Jess’ family was of the whole situation and going out of their way to make the event special for this couple. We had a crazy fruit salad, played wedding shower games and came home with little potpourri sachets that smelled herby.

Saturday evening (after the Dyke March) I met up with some friends from Chatt and showed them my new loft. We had a nice conversation while sitting on my concrete floor because my lack of a couch becomes problematic when having guests over.

Sunday we partied with the softball team and friends and watched the parade all afternoon from this big yellow house on Piedmont where we had the best view ever. We watched the parade and took pictures. Hung out with all the coolest drag queens in Atlanta. I love softball so much. It brings so many wonderful things.

Sunday evening, Jess and I caught up with Morgan, Jaime, Krystal, Charity, and Stephanie to watch the Starlight Caberet Show on the Coke Stage. The show was rained out last year so this show is something I’ve been looking forward to for TWO YEARS. The show wasn’t quite as long or scandalous as I remember it being in the past. It also didn’t have as many trans-boobie implant sightings as usual but memorable and awesome nonetheless.

Tonight (Don’t laugh…) I get to see Beyoncé in the theatres. For tonight only there is a special viewing of the Destiny’s Child Support the Troops concert at the Regal cinemas and you guys better believe that I’m going to be there. This is not going to come out on DVD. It’s not going to be playing on VH1 so this is the only chance to see it so I’m pretty stoked.

And on a final note: is anyone looking forward to the Atlanta IKEA grand-opening as much as I am?
