Tingling

Watching this old black-and-white horror movie called The Tingler.  I think it's a little hard to find a movie scary when its title sounds like some sort of kinky sex toy.

I'm going to NorCal in three weeks!  I'm going to fly into Oakland and then drive up to Lake Shasta with Ross's family.  They're renting a houseboat on the lake for his mom's birthday.  So excited!  XD

I've been very lonely for the last few weeks.  Not just for Ross, but for college in general.  Summer used to be a time for expanded opportunities for socializing, a season when school ceased to infringe on time with my friends.  Now my entire social life is in LA, and I'm just bored here.  I like hanging out at home, but I can't wait to get back to school.

So I finally turned in my topic proposals the other day.  I ended up doing "Stigma and Discrimination Against Persons with HIV/AIDS," "HIV/AIDS and Intellectual Property Rights," "Availability of HAART in Sub-Saharan Africa," "HIV/AIDS, Gender, and Sex Work," and "HIV/AIDS and the Millennium Development Goals."  Fascinating, indeed.  I'm waiting to see which ones the committee picks; I hope I get good ones.

Still working on my application for Annenberg.  I think I almost have my Statement of Intent done.  My main problem has been keeping it down to one page.  I'll probably post it when I'm done just in case anyone's bored and wants to give me feedback.  My other problem is my IR professor from last semester, who I asked to write me a letter of recommendation.  She keeps procrastinating; she says she'll have it done in two weeks and then a month later she still hasn't done it.  I emailed her today and diplomatically nagged her.  I hope she doesn't blow me off.  =/

I re-read Elizabeth Haydon's Symphony of Ages trilogy for something like the fourth time.  Amazing books!  I would definitely recommend them to any fantasy fans, although I guess they're more girly books than manly books.  Female protagonist, but awesome male characters too.  Very cool.

Ok, I guess that's about it.  Back to The Tingler.
