Our finicky weather seems to be getting colder again. I was walking outside without a jacket yesterday and was actually regretting it. Of course, if I were in NY or somewhere, it would have been "brisk" and a jacket would feel unnecessary. But in the spirit of "when in Rome" and such, I am officially calling it Jacket Weather.
On a somewhat related note, I'm engulfing myself in a massive playlist full of the 953MB of Christmas music I recently downloaded - and loving every second of it!
(and of course that playlist includes Mariah's delightful dulcet tones as well)
Anyways, that's about it for new things.
Now I'll just give you some (additional) insight into my part of the world with this list of things I noticed (or more appropriately, decided to notice) on the way to work this morning:
- Homeless cripples (or crippled homeless, all depends on your point of view I suppose)
- a little kid really excited about swatches (and ad on a billboard)
- a dying palm tree
- a guy selling sheets & tablecloths with floral patterns on the road (not roadside, road)
- a young garbage man - as in a 20-something guy walking down the street carrying what I can only describe as a giant sachel full of garbage (most likely paper and plastic scraps that he can sell - our local version of recycling).
- two simiarly dressed little kids (most likely homeless) by themselves trying to cross a busy highway road. One was slightly older than the other (both under 8). The older one had one arm around the younger one, and the other arm around a large box he was carrying on top of his head.
