Lovely story. It struck me especially because I, and probably most people here, am a lifelong journal keeper. I love that I am able to go back through years of journals, even when the memories aren't so sweet. It's a gift I didn't realize I was giving myself when I started writing.

Hey ... Thank you for dropping by. I am an on - off journal keeper. Did it meticulously when I was younger and then lots of other things took precedence. And then I am a collector too .. all sorts of things to keep memories alive.

It takes strength to go back and read a journal you wrote when you were ten or so. It all seems so trivial, so silly_ compared to adult life, though it would also help you recall far more than you probably would otherwise. Memories become much more vivid even with just a little directed recall such as that.

Thank you so much for dropping by to read. I agree with what you feel. There are things which we have memories about which may get pushed into corners of our mind. Going back to recollect can be helped with journals and keepsakes.

You used all the prompts! This was a great idea. I loved the "first love" theme, especially the idea of one relationship catapulting you into others.
