I’m seriously in love with this place! The ambience and peacefulness is really astounding. It feels great to just be walking around a place that you’ve never been to, finding all the little out of way shops and things and getting really excited when you find something that inspires you and gets that creative flair going again. More about that later however- just too much to write about.
Last night Jay and I took a drive out because we wanted to explore some more and we thought it would be a bit of a waste just lounging in the room. We could do that at home. So we drove just as it was starting to get dark - which it seemed to very quickly and the clouds that descended over the surrounding hills and mountains just made me want to stand out there and watch it all night. Alas, it was raining so we would have got soaked. Still didn’t stop me longing for it. Jay commented while we were out that there really wasn’t a MacD’s or any major chain like that anywhere in sight. Which I think again made a big difference to the place. As we were driving we went to one of the natural formations - Castlerigg Stone Circle. It predates Stonehenge apparently, but as it was dark we couldn’t see much. So decided to head back. When we did get back to the room, we ended up crashing as I was so tired and the bed was so comfy. I think that was the best nights sleep I’d had in a while, once I managed to find a good sleeping position that is. :)
This morning I woke up really early, think it was around 6 but the sun was just coming up and I just had to stand by the window and watch the village wake up too and the sun peek over the hills. It was gorgeous. Around 7 we got ready for the day and decided to go for another little walk (mostly to look for a cash machine) to pick out what we could do this afternoon as Jay had already been to where he was working yesterday and estimated that the job should be finished by midday.
We finished wandering around and settled down for breakfast, which again was another pleasant surprise. Fully cooked and very nice it was too. :)
Right now, I’m sat in a coffee shop and have just finished a very nice coffee. All these things going around in my head as I write this, it’s impossible to get everything down. I know though that I feel very happy and content right now, especially as it’ll be time to meet Jay soon. I just have to do a couple of things before hand. Hopefully, due to our little explorations we have our afternoon planned out. That’s if he managed to finish the job.
