Saturday we met with our landscaper's wife who does the plants/trees part of the landscaping. We met with her at our home and went to a nursery to pick out plants. This was much fun for me as I am no green thumb, so I was enthralled at all the options and look forward to a very green backyard. 32 degrees?! Burrr. I'm not used to that kind of weather anymore. We get that cold at night though at the house and I become the biggest wimp! Its been in the 70s all this week so far, so yeah landscaping season just moves right along. We usually have a lot of rain in January, which slows landscaping down, but its been very minimal so far. In our case its just our landscaper himself that is slow ass.

Thanks for the reassurance that I will not kill the plants, that's good to know. I'm looking forward to learning about gardening and relaxing in our backyard.

I haven't added any outside shots here yet, gotta do that. Yes, we only wanted one lot with this one plan and we got it. We walk around the neighborhood often and still feel we got one of the top 5 lots so far.

You have a crape myrtle don't you? They're planted around here a lot on the sidewalks and they are just soooo pretty. I don't know what color we got yet, we told her lavendar preferably, but get the biggest one you can for our price at whatever color it is. It will be nice to have it so close to our dining nook.

I am looking forward to having a yard to take care of. I may eat my words later, but for now I'm optimistic! :D

Ok, now I'm inpired to get on this green thumb thing! We are in the planning stages of doing our back patio and all of your pix and plant descriptions (though I don't know what they are!) are inspiring me. :)
