The spunky soprano was indeed absent this past Sunday when we sang that awful Walton Jubilate Deo. I admit I felt a little gleefully vindicated when the alto assigned as the back-up asked the choir director how to find her starting note. I thought it was just my inferior musicality that I couldn't have jumped in with little rehearsal or time on that part, but she's an excellent sightsinger and had trouble herself. Well, I don't wish her trouble because she's got enough trouble for ten people in her life right now, but I'm glad I didn't have to sing it and sitting way over in a aural hole at the edge of the choir. Now to erase everyone's memories that my name was called out.
